The Suns made a splash in the offseason acquiring dynamic guard Eric Bledsoe to add to an already athletic team. Young players Gerald Green and Miles Plumlee were also bought in to play major roles. The Suns have a new feeling of excitement thanks to young players and a new coach. There are major questions to be answered to see how far this team can go.

  1. Can Bledsoe and Dragic mesh? Bledsoe learned from and played alongside with one of the best in Chris Paul last year. Dragic is dynamic and also learned from one of the best in Steve Nash. These two point guards will start together in the backcourt. While both will get their team as the only PG they will play together a lot. They are the team's best two players and if they can mesh it will be a great thing for the Suns and create a dynamic offense.
  2. Center- The Suns will go with 2nd year player Miles Plumlee as the starter and rookie Alex Len at the center position. These kids were both first round picks and have a lot of talent. They should have strong futures. The question is how well can they lock down the paint this year for the Suns.
  3. Scoring- Bledsoe and Dragic will run much of the offense and also are likely to be the two leading guys? Who will chip in with them. Tucker, Fyre, and the Morrises are good three point shooters and Green can be a dynamic player? It appears on the surface there is no secondary option in there. Will someone step up or will this be a lingering issue? Will the Suns dip into their 4 first rounders and young players mid-season and get a scorer at the 3 or the 4?
  4. Who Plays?- The Suns have options. Bledsoe and Dragic both will play both 1 and 2. Green can play the 2 or the 3. Marcus Morris can play the 3 or the 4. Frye or Markieff can slide over to the 5 if necessary(not ideal though). There is flexibility. There will be a chance to look at some different combinations due to the one game for Markieff to start the season. Will a rookie coach in Jeff Hornacek be able to mix and match and find the right combinations in a talented, but unproven roster?
  5. Playoffs?- The Suns do have some talent. The west is very strong and deep. Most people would not bet on the Suns to make the playoffs. Can this team come together and prove everyone wrong? If not can they at least develop their young players coupled with picks and capspace lay the foundation for a 2015 contender?

There is a lot of potential here for the Suns. This could be a fun season or it can be a long season. Nobody knows how it will go. There will be heroes and there will be zeros. There will be bumps in the road for the young guys and great flashes of what could be in the future. What will we get this year? Only time can tell. Stay tuned Sun's Fans!
