MLB 14: The Show Uniform Table

    *slams alarm clock*

Wha-? What day is it? ... APRIL 10th???

Okay, so I'm a little late (you're very late -Ed.) but welcome to the MLB 14: The Show version of the uniform table!

Here is the link to the games list. The uniform table is still hosted by the MLB The Show wiki and bp4baseball. Forever grateful and such. If you want to quickly navigate to each game, you can use the menu on the left, then pick your team and your opponent to see the tables.

The bad news is they are not even close to being done yet. The good news is that I have been redirecting people to two web sites that will help you get accurate info for each team:
    • Chris Creamer's Sportslogos.net - Chris Creamer began a uniform tracker last year, and with his artistic abilities, is way better than anything I could ever do.
    • The Diamond Uniform Database - While not as artistic as Creamer's, it does include helmets. They had it with artistry by a friend of mine, Jay Jackson, last year, but it seems relegated to this page only, now.

I use both of these sites to get my information, so if you use them, you're already ahead of the game!

Unfortunately, there are a lot of changes, some for worse, with the uniforms this year. This will take me some time to finish. I'll update this thread when I am done.

EDIT: It's mostly done now. I still need information for the Cardinals. Can anyone provide that?

    No change from last year.

    Home: Normal White uni

    Saturday Home: Cream Alts

Sunday Home: White unis, use BP or Old Throwback cap as substitute for the Sunday cap.

Road vs teams not wearing red as primary: Normal Road Grays, Normal Road Caps

Road vs teams with red as primary*: Alternate road grays, Alternate Road Hats

*Basically, the Cardinals would only wear the blue alt caps verses these teams.

    Washington
    Philadelphia
    Cincinnati
    Arizona
    LA Angels

Aren't the A's yellow and green jerseys mixed up in the game so that the yellow jersey is in the game as R-Alternate, and the green jersey is in the game as H-Alternate?

Also, I thought I read somewhere that the Cubs have discontinued their use of the blue jerseys altogether now.

And just before I was about to hit the "Post" button, I saw the highlights of Thursday night's Marlins @ Nationals game, and the Marlins were wearing their orange uniforms. Is this gonna be like previous years' home games where the orange jersey will also be optional or maybe mandatory on the final game of weekday series, as well?

Ohh, how I WISH you would go back to PICTURES! They looked so AWESOME!

(table, for me, is not necessary, but I LOVED it with the pictures; no place else had anything like that)

            You're right. Sorry.

I googled Cubs blue alternate jerseys and I could not find anything about the Cubs not wearing them this year. Plus I'm sure UniWatch would have mentioned it.

Possibly. I have a rule where if something persists for a month, then I'll alter the table.

Pictures will take me a while, but I'll try. I'm planning on getting the PS4 version of The Show this year.

The Marlins are wearing orange on the road again tonight. Looks like what color they wear on the road is a random and/or pitcher's choice thing.

Yeah guys, big Marlins fan here. Their road jerseys are either the black or the orange, no set days or anything, seemingly random. Their home sets are set though, pretty sure that's been covered though.

Assuming it's the same rules as last year for the Mets:

Pinstriped home jersey: Home night games (Exception: Home Opener)

Snow white: Home day games (May be worn with orange-billed cap)

Blue "Mets": If same as last year, random home games (Can be day or night). *Subject to change* (Worn with orange-billed cap, but may be worned with primary cap)

Camo: According to the website, they'll wear them April 21, July 7, July 28, September 8, & September 15.

But wait , when do they wear the black alternates because if it's in the show it's gotta be used in real life right ?

I'm not sure what the White Sox home alternate socks and undershirt colors are (I haven't seen them wear these unis) but in the game, they wear different color undershirts (blue) and socks (red). I would think they would have one or the other matching.

Same with the Rangers. Tonight in the game that went extra innings with the Astros, the Rangers wore the red alt cap with the white home jerseys, but in the game the undershirts are blue and not red like real life. Also, one strange thing happened as I tried to see what color the socks would be when I selected the white jersey and switched the pants and cap to alts, when Choo came to bat, the game gave him long pants instead of his usual long song socks. Everyone on the team now has long socks in this particular game.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to wear specific jerseys on set days of the week when you're on the road because the home team can troll you by wearing the same color jersey if they have one. In the Marlins case, the Pirates and White Sox are two teams that can wear black jerseys any day of the week, so if the Marlins come to town, they could troll the Marlins by wearing black for every game of the series to force the Marlins to wear something else (I assume orange since the gray jerseys are gone). Back in like 2009/2010 when the Astros almost exclusively wore their red jerseys on the road, whenever the Astros came to Arlington, the Rangers would purposely wear their red jerseys to mess with the Astros and force them to wear their gray uniforms instead. Gotta love that gamesmanship.

I'm curious if a home team wearing any other colors could prevent the Marlins from being allowed to wear their black unis on the road. How about if the Brewers or Rays wore their dark blue uniforms? Would the Marlins still be allowed to wear black if they wanted to? I'd almost assume that the answer is yes as MLB's rules seem to be pretty lenient about this if the two colors aren't exactly the same. The most notable example that sticks out in my mind is when the Orioles wear black, and the A's wear dark green. In my personal opinion, those colors look similar enough to where I personally would make the road team wear something else, but apparently it's allowed in MLB's eyes. It looks really weird seeing both teams wearing those dark colors, though.

Do the Red Sox wear their dark blue uniforms on Fridays in Baltimore when Baltimore is wearing black? I'd imagine that this combo would look really weird, too.

I have seen the Twins (at home) wear their navy blue jerseys and the Royals wear their royal blue jerseys in the same game before. The MLB doesn't seem to stop teams from doing this at all. I'm assuming that if the home team wears black, the Marlins just wear orange, but they also wear orange in other cases on the road, too.
