I don't know, but I don't think so...I know it cost us $14-million to make him go away (after which he subsequently signed with the Mets, of course....), but how that was structured I'm not clear. I don't think it's a Bonilla-type situation, though. Or maybe I just hope it's not.

So what team is Florida trading their #1 pick to this year?Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early. It keeps things interesting if you still have a team you like in the playoffs...Comment

I'm glad we didn't get the first pick. Losing should never be rewarded. Getting the #2 pick sucks too. High picks don't mean jack when the city of Buffalo has the worst losing culture in the entire country outside Cleveland.Comment

Buffalo is still guaranteed one of Reinhart or Bennett. Florida will likely go with Ekblad since they already have guys like Huberdeau, Bjugstad and Barkov, but they could also deal the pick. Edmonton could also deal their pick in an effort to suck less quicker.Comment

It's only rewarding if you get it right. Because it looks real bad if you get it wrong.

I've heard stranger. Way, way back in the summer of '94, you may recall that the Nordiques traded Sundin to the Leafs for Wendel Clark. I've heard from several sources that Quebec originally approached the Canucks and offered Joe Sakic straight up for Trevor Linden, and Pat Quinn turned them down.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. We should have believed him.Originally posted by slickdtcDrJones brings the stinky cheese is what we've all learned from this debacle.Originally posted by Kipnis22yes your fantasy world when your proven wrong about 95% of your postComment

Re: The Official 2013-14 Regular Season Talk Thread
The only way that would make sense is if Feaster or their scouts thought that Berra, the goalie they were getting, was going to be an all star or something. From a fan's perspective, especially one who knows the Wings' system well, there is no reason to turn down two NHL ready prospects for a 1st, a euro goalie and a fringe prospect.
These rumors come up all the time though. I remember one where Burke turned down Mike Richards for Nikolai Kulemin and Nazem Kadri. Who knows if any of these are true.Comment
