To be honest it gets old seeing console gamers freak out over stuff that was quite honestly introduced about 7 years ago as a regularity in gaming. No offense but I don't care to read all that jazz and am more interested in what people actually think of the state of the game compared to the rest of the hierarchy. I don't really want to hear all the praise mixed with zero criticism. For all we know this could be the buggiest game in years. It has happened before with a couple installments.
My small amount of whining/criticism PALES in comparison to the threads that will erupt if this game is even slightly buggy for a month or two. So you have that to look forward to I guess.
Just my side of the story anyway. I do credit their lighting and overall uppage of detail for sure and have said so. As well the fans are my most favorite improvement this year and it's clear going forward that they are making a solid foundation on PS4. Short of licking the game and cooing in its ear I really don't have anything more positive or negative to say atm.
But you aren't going to find me on one of these bandwagons. I play most of my PC games with a Sony controller so.... it isn't like I just left consoles behind. I enjoy my consoles. But let's be honest, I am hardcore techologist when it comes to gaming. These things will be pointed out because they are right there in front of my face. When anisotropic shading seems absent it looks pretty bad on the field. I mean, I can't even tell the difference with ground textures in some of these shots and I have a trained eye.
Same way I would point out the little oddities and inconsistencies in one of my favorite games like Infamous. In fact all the suggestions AKA whining just got us a patch today that removes HUD, let's us select time of day, and introduces a photomode among other things. Yes indeed, this criticism SOME guys here like to call not acceptable is actually what makes other games better.
