I liked it better when they just randomly released codes without announcing when, gave a more spontaneously feel to it.

These planned release times and hyping them up leads to a black friday at Walmart feel to it.

Everyone who waited for the code on Twitter missed it, regardless of how fast you entered it. They posted it to Instagram 2 minutes before Twitter. When it's not one problem with 2K, it's another. It's hilariously sad how awful they are at handling these promotions.

The way 2k does Locker Codes is a joke. There has to be a better way than who can type in a code the fastest. I agree with the codes being very rare but don't agree with how they are given out. I bet the guys at 2k just sit back and laugh at how thirsty people are over these codes. Especially since they are not that much better than other versions already in the game.
