re: Victor Lugo, designer, has left EA Tiburon
Can you blame him? I wouldn't want to be tied to Madden either - working on something that never reaches it's potential. It's a shame though, because he was one of the few talented folks that work on this game. I think he made a positive difference in a game that has grossly underachieved for a decade.
I wish him luck and hope he does well.Last edited by ChaseB; 04-23-2014, 02:40 AM.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Not saying anything out of the ordinary here, or mean anything negative towards Victor Lugo, who I don't know on a personal level, but people are replaceable.
I'm sure there are other Victor Lugo's out there.
And let me add I wish him well with his next endeavor.
It could have been because there was a better opportunity out there. That's why most people are motivated to leave.Last edited by roadman; 04-23-2014, 11:44 AM.Comment

Corrected the thread title to properly display the man's title, as per LinkedIn.
Best of luck to Lugo in whatever he decides to pursue next, the things he had a hand in - notably, the Infinity Engine and the Kinect line-of-scrimmage voice commands - are things I have really enjoyed using in the past two Madden titles.Comment

Re: Victor Lugo, designer, has left EA Tiburon
I don't think the game can gain any serious ground with people constantly moving in and out. I mean who knows his reasons for leaving, but most of the guys that have spoken out have had similar stories. Maybe he was tired of putting his hard work and effort into something that will never be allowed to reach its full potential. Maybe they're going in a direction he didn't agree with. Who knows, but there are always more questions than answers when it comes to the Madden franchise ever since they acquired this license. I honestly think Madden has to go straight belly up before EA realizes the true impact they could've made.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Re: Victor Lugo, designer, has left EA Tiburon
I really like Vic. If not for the infinity engine I would have never got back into Madden. If they ever manage to fine tune it he would be considered the godfather of one of the biggest advancements in madden to date.
I wish him the best. Hopefully this does not signify that the Madden teams feels comfortable enough with the Physics engine as is, and leave the feature as they've done with other features in the past.Comment

How about we cut the crap with the agenda nonsense? I have a right to have an opinion that is formulated based on a lot of things that have happened over the years. There is nothing wrong with posting that opinion the way I posted it. Since you don't agree with what I wrote, you felt the need to knock down what I said and twist it into something that suited YOUR agenda and you used it as a means to attack a poster you clearly don't like. You turned an opinionated post, which was respectful, into a post that suited your need to attack me and then have the usual apologist group who routinely craps on everyone's post who has an opinion that doesn't match theirs, join in. So let me ask... Who REALLY has an agenda here? From what I can see, there were no terms of service broken here and all of the posts made were formulated in a respectful manner - right up until this one.Comment

Chase has a point: no reason to make assumptions on either side for this. It's a news story about Madden, not a chance for either side of the fight to push their side.
And Chase didn't attack you. He gave his opinion on your post, much like you gave your opinion on Vic Lugo leaving. Now I'm putting an end to both sides.

Re: Victor Lugo, designer, has left EA Tiburon
Not sure where I see an agenda, unless his agenda was to compliment Victor, because that's what his paragraph did.
As far as the comments on Madden, he was politely criticizing the game.
Some posted the news and people are discussing its content.

I hope they don't fill the void from within EA. I'd like to see someone from the outside with a fresh perspective to fill that position.Comment
