These players are NOT actually on the block though.

It's very strange. I'm 25-15, by the way.

Where can I see my team strategy? I can't seem to find it.

Heroes, I think you're on to something here. I take it you're actually controlling the Yankees right? If those players aren't actually being placed on the block by you, then it smells like something SCEA has actually accidently? slipped into the game language. This may be the reason certain teams like the Yanks and Phills are starting the year on rebuild mode.

Now I'm not going to pretend to know how to build a game but I really think there's a corelation between those players being "placed" on the block and those teams starting out in rebuild mode. Franchise has never done this before. Like tabarnes posted, every team starts at normal and by July 1st their strategy is either tweaked or remains normal... Been like this for the last few years at least...

I have seen this exact same thing. But if you go to the trading block……those players are not listed. I also have everything on manual for my Yankees in my test franchise.

So yeah…wondering what thats all about.

        Yes. I'm controlling NYY.

        Manual everything.

We are in "rebuild," against my will, and the ticker is showing like 1/3 of my active roster on the trading block even though they ARE NOT.

So the ticker seems to be inaccurate? And appears to be tied to the team's organizational status?

Yes. That's exactly what appears to be happening.

I'm only 44 games into my Franchise so I can't say whether or not the CPU will begin offering me trades on the "ghost trade block" players. But I certainly can sim ahead to see how deep or not the rebuild strategy is.

As far as I can tell, SO FAR, it'a a visual issue only with the ticker (and I am in "rebuild even though I have the 5th best record in baseball). But I'm not far enough along to know whether it's more saturated than that.

You will get offers. If you still have a good record in June or July it could move to normal, but I have yet to see the Yankees move to playoff push. I'd much prefer the way it was before when team strategy was tied to the standings on July 1st.

In the offseason it seems the strategy stays at rebuild.

Is this patch just for the PS3? I've been out of town for a week and was curious if the Vita version also received a patch.

So have you seen this too?

Where the ticker is showing user controlled players on the block when they really aren't?

Yes Heroes I have. I just actually tried a different roster I found in the vault. It was a pretty decent roster that had conservatively rated rookies in it. I ws hoping that a custom roster may help with the strategies and budget issues.

The Yankees and Phillies were still in rebuild mode. The worst part is it made the budgets worst.

Many of the teams had 30% plus increases and then there were teams like the last place Astros with a 60% increase. Even giving renewable players ridiculous deals I couldn't close the gap.

Yikes. That doesn't bode well for OSFM.

Looks like I'm going to have fun playing GM for all 30 teams with that mess lol. How does something like this get by before release? Why change it from last year?

Do any of you guys know how to explain this to the guys doing the Hybrid roster project:

                          http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ial-setup.html

Maybe there's a way to minimize it with OVR and / or Potential edits that apparently trigger salaries?

I am assuming it is based off overall and potential, and would be relative to the league. If you lowered overall and potential the salaries would be lower, but the surplus would remain the same.

I would like to see budgets be a true reflection of the teams success. From there the team has a set amount to spend as in real life. Towards the end of free agency they either have to sign cheap free agents or low ball players that are left. The elite should come off the board first then the rest fall in line.

I don't think a budget increase should exceed 15% ever.

The roster edit idea won't work...

                              Thanks for the clarification!

I agree with everything. All that would be just amazing and I'm sure in future games we will have quite the complete game but for this version on the PS3, at the very least, if it's possible of course, bring back last year's budget increases/decreases.

I'm not that picky when it comes too how the game works. If I can develop a personal work around, then all is eventually well and it won't even bother me. These budget increases though, that we can't even realistically work around, bother me. I want to take part in a long franchise this year, as always, and it's looking like it's going to be hard to make it happen.

I found last year was the best budgets have ever been in The Show, but even that had it's quirks. Compared to '12 though when only 10 teams had money, it was a giant leap. I don't agree when posters say they don't like to see small market teams spend, because they will spend, when the time is right, but we also don't need to see losing teams gaining 60% for losing again.

Even last year there was disparity in team's budgets, all be it every team spent a little more but there were still those big market/small market gaps...
