    Online Franchise vs Offline Franchise

My Question is what is the difference between playing a single player franchise offline against the CPU vs playing a single player franchise online against the CPU? I have seen some people mention playing online franchise by themselves but not sure what the reason is.

So what are the Pros and Cons playing a single player franchise online vs offline?? I have always played offline but if theirs a good reason to play online id like to try that out.

Trade logic and other AI management like in lineups are better in an online franchise.

      Is that really the case?

Also whats the downside of Online Franchises? Anything missing... that is available offline?

Im assuming if its online we rely on our own connection working and also sony servers being up, in order to play it?

Why can they make the online AI better than offline? Why not both? I don't get it.

The downside in online franchise is simming the cpu/cpu games. You can't play minor league games and manage the roster like in an offline franchise. You also can't field with the new dynamic camera. I do an online franchise for my ps3 and enjoy it. Never have any problem with lag or disconnects doing a solo online franchise.

What do you recommend for setting like scheduling and such. Im starting an OF with only my buddy on tuesday and would like to know the perfect setup. I simmed some on the PS3 and idk how to keep the CPU on the same schedule as you. And it also didnt go to the playoffs even though every team played.

I'm pretty sure you can't transfer your franchise year to year in online as opposed to offline.

The best way to set it up the schedule is open(manual). Assign your team and friends, the rest cpu. As far as simming cpu games what I do is play my series first. Then have your friend play his series. Once those are complete, you then cycle through all the cpu teams and sim their series. This process of simming takes about an half hour on sony's server. Once all the cpu teams series have been tallied, go play your next series and let your friend play his. Then again sim the rest of the cpu series that corresponds to yours and friend. One thing to note is that compared to the season schedule in offline the season schedule won't exactly be the same as far as the dates are concerned. But don't sweat it. The opponents are. The best tip I can give you is just have you and your friend focus on your individual series. Then once those are complete sim each cpu team's series. That way stats and records will add up the same. Hope this helps.

Do you always need a internet connection while playing online?

Also isn't there better stat tracking or something for online? And you can track and see the schedule on the show nation website?

Forgot to mention that. Online franchises do not carry over. Thanks.

Thanks appreciate it! We usually play the first 5 games of the season (use each starter). Then play one game a series. Thanks alot though!

Not sure about the internet connection. But yes there is better stat tracking and you can track your online franchise on the website.

What can you not manage as far as the roster online? Cause I like being in control with sending players down and moving others up and such.

You can send minor league players to the major league team and remove them. But there is no minor leagues or managing of them in an online franchise. It's just one big roster with all of your organization's players. So if you are looking to assign specific players to triple A or double A, you can't do that like in an offline franchise.

Cool thanks for the information, sounds like I may just stay with offline as their are rare occasions that I like the play a Triple A game.

Plus not sure if any of the Pro's are really worth it
