Fear the Deer - Milwaukee Bucks(2k14|PS4)

    Game: NBA 2K14
    Console: PS4
    Mode: MyGM
    Rosters: Cam's Complete Roster v2.5
Draft Classes: Cam's Complete 2014 Draft v2.5 (will use Cam's 2015 class and Jazzman's Fictional classes)
    Sliders: TBD
Play or Sim: Will sim entire 2013-2014 season before taking control of the team. After that, I will play 1 game and then sim 3.
    Played QTR Length: 12 min
    Simmed QTR Length: 12 min

    Transaction Guidelines:
I am trying to keep this as realistic as possible. There will not be any signs of LBJ or Kevin Durant in Milwaukee (in the near future atleast). I will also try to help star players find a better home if they are considering signing with a team that they would not. I will not abuse the trade AI.

    First Off-Season - 2 Trades Available + 1 Draft Trade
Seasons Following - 2 Trades + 1 Draft Trade for the whole season.

I will also be stealing these free agent rules from ReidSkee:
    20 or less wins
Free agent signings are limited to players who are 70 OVR or lower. No exceptions.

    21-30 wins
Free agent signings are limited to players who are 70 OVR or lower, unless there is a player in the 71-75 OVR range that is 33 or older.

    31-40 wins
Free agent signings are limited to players who are 75 OVR or lower. No exceptions.

    41-50 wins
Free agent signings are, for the most part, limited to players who are 75 OVR or lower. Two exceptions: You can sign a free agent if there is a player in the 76-80 OVR range that is 33 or older, or you can sign a free agent if there is a younger player in the 76-80 OVR range that will be stuck in that range for the rest of their careers, but ONLY if it fits a need.

    51+ wins
You can sign anyone you want, but you are only allowed to sign players, especially stars, based on your team needs. For example, if I wanted to sign someone like Kevin Durant, but I already have Tobias Harris, I cannot sign Durant. However, if I don't have a shooting guard and a top talent is available, I'm free to negotiate if I wish to.
NOTE: Big thanks to WaitTillNextYear for the template here. His 76ers and Jazzman's Jazz were really what motivated me to start this. Plus, it does help in burning the last 24 hours before The Show.

            Reflection:
The Milwaukee Bucks overachieved expectations for the 2013-14 season with 34 wins in a weak Eastern Conference. The team was led by 21 year old point guard Brandon Knight and European big man Ersan Ilyasova, who did have issues with injuries.

            GM Notes:
I simmed the whole season and avoided making trades at all in order to make things more difficult and to simulate me being the new hire after the end of the season. We are in an interesting position based on how many wins we get and we are hoping that the ping pong balls will bounce our way this year.

My goal for this team is to build a strong, athletic, defensive team in the mold of the old Pistons or the current Grizzles.

            Key Storylines:
            • Is Brandon Knight the PG of the future?
            • Who will the Bucks pick in the first?
            • Is O.J. Mayo on the trading block?

                Off-Season Goals

                1. Increase team buzz to 41%. [Currently 12%] (Might Accomplish)
                2. Replace Bob Bender or Marc Boff (Trainer) with someone cheaper (Will Accomplish)
                3. Purchase a Stadium Facility that will help out our bottom line. (Might Not Accomplish)

In other news, here is the result of the Lottery:

                1. Jazz
                2. Pelicans
                3. Lakers
                4. Magic
                5. 76ers
                6. Knicks
                7. Bucks
                8. Kings
                9. Hornets
                10. Mavericks
                11. Hawks
                12. Pistons
                13. Timberwolves
                14. Nuggets

Obviously we would have liked to get a higher pick, but we should be able to get an impact player at 7 in this draft.

EDIT: So I ran into a glitch that ruined my first MyGM, so I had to re-sim the first season. I will not be changing the stats seen above so for stories, we will view those as what actually happened. This is only noticeable with the playoff teams in the lottery.

                  Thoughts:
The first and second picks are really puzzling unless they have plans to use both as 1/2 combos. I went into the draft really wanting to get Julius Randle, when the Lakers called at 3 we really wanted to move up. We ended up shipping John Henson and our pick at 7 to the Lakers in return for the pick. We felt that Randle has a much higher ceiling than Henson and we are building for the future. Wiggins and Kawhi Leonard will be a combo that opposing wings will absolutely hate trying to play against. Parker also fell way further than I expected. I had a few offers that would have allowed me to move up and get him but I did not think that was realistic at all. He should fit well in Minnesota and give them a dangerous lineup.

We made another deal with the Bulls late in the first round. They were interested in moving back a couple spots and there were still some good players left on the board for us. We sent them our 2nd Rounder (pick 6) and Carlos Delfino, as they felt they needed another shooter in order to make a run next season. Picking up James Young was a big debate. I think he has a lot of room to grow but he can come in and provide some scoring off of the bench.

I guess all I can say is that 2k happened this off-season.

                    Key Headlines
                    • The Lakers get rid of Kobe, starting fresh with 'Melo
                    • LeBron on outs with Wade and Bosh, heads to Orlando
                    • Kobe lands in Utah, ready to strike back at LA
                    • Bogut and Granger signed to the Heat
                    • 76ers ready to run 4 PG offense, sign Isaiah Thomas and Kendall Marshall

I just... Ugh. We move on.

Utah can atleast use both of them as 2 guards because of their skill sets. The Philly situation is ridiculous.

Here is their PG Depth Chart:
                        Isaiah Thomas
                        Michael Carter-Williams
                        Kendall Marshall
                        Tyler Ennis
and I think they have one more

Makes no sense. You have a rookie of the year PG so you go sign Thomas to a huge contract and draft another in the top 10.

You're very welcome, bro. Thanks for the shout.

I guess all I can say is that 2k happened this off-season.

I just... Ugh. We move on.

                          Bucks Signings:
                          Nate Wolters PG - 1 yr/3.03m(team option)
                          Darius Miller SF - 2 yr/4.07m
                          DeAndre Kane PG - 2 yr/4.21m(team option)
First of all, Popovich should be thrown in jail for drugging 19 other GMs so he lands Wiggins at 20. That's absurd. I love Cam's 2014 draft class, but 2K's draft logic needs a lot of work! In mine, Jabari Parker went near 25. I like Embiid to the Knicks in yours tho.

As for the FAs, it's hard to explain why the Heat would let LBJ walk so they can bring in 2 non-max players like Bogut and Danny Granger. They re-signed Bosh and Wade too....They always do.

I had a strategy where, as Philly, I used my max cap space to sign Bron and then made sure to send him packing back to Miami. The only thing I could not stop was Melo going to the Magic, but Kobe re-signed with the Lakers in mine (probably did not have cap space in yours after landing Melo). In theory, if you had 2 full max cap slots, you could sign Melo and LBJ in the offseason and deal them back to the Knicks and Heat for 2nd rounders and call it good. Then Kobe ends up back in LA. FYI.

By the way, I think your trade of Henson + the #7 for the #3 is actually a pretty good, realistic trade. You're not really ripping the Lakers off there.

I was really really contemplating signing LBJ but the Kobe signing was a bit surprising. That probably would have led to Melo in Orlando which seems to be popular. Oh well, we can make it work.

Gonna be testing some sliders today unless I get lucky enough to snag the show early. Might get a game up.

PS Julius Randle is going to be a fun time in the post.
