This feature list is fantastic and they have had a year and a half to implement all of this. They better get it right and make it a truly next gen and authentic/realistic experience. I can't wait.

Fix the online franchise mode please. NHL 13 was so terrible I didn't buy NHL 14. Probably the first NHL game I didn't buy since its inception.Comment

This looks great! I'm on PS4 and the only thing I'm hoping for is for Sony to enable mp3 support so we can have custom sound. The later it gets, the more I fear it won't be included.

We saw how their real physics worked on hitting 2 years ago, oh thats right they scrapped it for a Fifa feature.
real Puck physics means the puck will bounce so high on a dump in now it will hit the netting and bounce of Jonathan Quicks back in the net for a goal hey it happened once so it has to be like this right EA.
Not holding my breath on any of this EA jargon we hear it every year.Comment

I think the core of game mechanics and gameplay is there but just needs a push in added power that the next gen systems will give. I have been calling for new commentary and presentation for a while so i am very excited with the news and eagerly waiting for some gameplay footage.Comment

What you saw was them likely doing the best they could on the hardware. I still want to see to believe, especially in regards to AI because we heard this all before as well with Hockey IQ. But I'm willing to give them the benefit.
I also hope the commentary is actually as dynamic and situational as they say. It's really the only direction to go for any sports series at this point. And it allows the devs far more hooks to tie it into the gameplay itself.
I liked the attention to detail at the Joe, I hope they are able to get deals in place to have all 30 arenas ready for year one. I do get that licensing can be tricky with these things, but I would hope TD Garden gets this treatment as well.Comment

Woo it's EA cynic time. Here we go. A new skill stick for crazy dekes and protecting the puck bot no skill stick for defense announced? New physics where everyone can get hit. Sounds like it's gonna be even more of a peewee hockey show in OTP now. I'm kind of scared because they haven't ever gotten interference penalties correct in any year.
I'm a little excited, but mostly because of the GM Connected league I am in and it's continuance. That is until I actually play a game and lose a goal because my center skates into the goalie from the faceoff circle for no reason. EA is really, really good at hype. They've been suckering me in for years now. They'll do it again I'm sure. I love hockey and I have no other choice in video games. I really do hope all the hype sticks, but I'd be very cautious considering the history of this franchise.PSN:BrrbisBrrComment

I'm pumped. They mentioned skaters having different strides and all looking very realistic. That and new presentation/commentary makes me happy.
They mention new puck physics and multiplayer collisions and I'm hopeful that the new generation of consoles can deliver this effectively and not in a crappy arcadey way.
The mention of enhanced skill stick control is always welcome and if the new consoles make it feel better, great.
The bit about players now being three separate layers sounds good. Authentic arenas sounds good.
Overall, even if gameplay only improves a bit, the game should look a lot better on the new generation and the new commentary is more than welcome. Plus Doc is the voice of hockey in my mind, so that will be fun.
I'm very pumped for now. Certainly a long way to go, a lot more info to be had and a lot of proving for the game to do, but I'm optimistic and excited today.Comment

I just hope they didnt do a hi def port like SCEA did with the show from ps3 to ps4 because even though its not a port it sure looks like one .
Im cool with current gameplay as its tweakable but we better get all new goalies masks with options to create and all players should have their real faces .Finally Roster share in NHL 22 ! Dreams do come true ! To Garryowen and Glory boys !Comment
