Favorite camera for hitting.
Having a hard time judging low balls and off speed pitches. What are your favorite camera views?Tags: None -
Re: Favorite camera for hitting.
I've just been using the default catcher cam. 'Catcher 2' is slightly lower than the default catcher cam so that might help you.Last edited by DowntownRiot; 05-23-2014, 09:10 PM. -

Re: Favorite camera for hitting.
I am using catcher 3, only becausae I got tired of recreating my custom cam every time I turned the game on. My prefered cam, is based off catcher 3, I zoom in until only the top of the plate is visable, and I lower the cam until the top of the pitcher shoulders are just above the top of the strike zone (relative its more feel) on Nick Markakis' strike zone. It allows me to see the the lower part of the strike zone better.Moderator

Re: Favorite camera for hitting.
They said it would be addressed with the next title update. So that is good news.

Re: Favorite camera for hitting.
I'm using Catcher 4 this year and it's been working out pretty well.Comment

Re: Favorite camera for hitting.
I've used Catcher Offset exclusively for the last 2 years, but this year I'm having trouble picking up breaking balls with it. Not sure if it's been tweaked or what?
Been using Catcher 3 for the last couple of days, and while I do prefer an offset camera for realism, I'm seeing the ball better than I was.Comment

Re: Favorite camera for hitting.
I think after another few days of testing I'm going to stick with the Wide camera option.
It's the most realistic in terms of height, and how you would actually view the ball as a batter without actually customizing it yourself. And because of the height and how you view the ball, there is a lot more time to react, making the fastball up and in much more hittable.(especially if you are using Zone + Analog.)
Anything around 93mph was giving me a lot of trouble inside, I pretty much had to guess it was coming and sit on it(and I don't use Guess Pitch), and even then it was a task to do anything other than inside out it to the opposite field. As soon as I switched to Wide, I homered twice on inside pitches, one of them being a 97mph fastball I pulled barely inside the foul pole.
If anyone is having trouble with the fastball, especially on the inner half, and does not want to mess with pitch speed sliders, I urge you to try Wide.Comment

Re: Favorite camera for hitting.
I like E. Catcher Zoom the most. Zoom offset isn't bad either.Last edited by cardinalbird5; 05-18-2014, 01:30 PM.Comment
