    First time player to DD

So I have spent a week now building and customizing my roster and focusing on building a good looking team. I have 3 key players I am been developing.

Now here is my question, I can't seem to find a way to add games to my players contracts so for example the player has 27 games left how do I keep my key players around ? How do I add time to them? Sure would hate to invest millions just to lose them after 30 games??

    Thanks

There are no contract extensions in Diamond Dynasty. You lose your players forever once their initial contract expires.

WOW really so I have wasted tons of time customizing and training this team only for them to be lost!!! Kind of take the joy out of building around key players! I really don't get why you can't keep your stars.

man was loving this mode, now not sure it is worth the effort?????

Well anyway thanks for the Reply.

I'm with you all the way. Losing your players after you've put so much time and money into them kills my interest in the mode as well.

I love the fact that you can't extend players, that way you always ate getting new guys. If you could extend players everyone would have teams of guys all 90+ at everything easily

you raise a good point there. I figure it kind of like collage ball where you train a guy up to be his best and then send them off to MLB and start again.

Now if I understand it all correctly, say I have player A which I have invested in on my active roster using up game time and Player B I also invested in, on my Inactive team Player B will retain his game time. So now I can develop talent behind my A -Team right?

Yes exactly. Don't go into DD assuming it is like MUT or Myteam. It is a different ball game and it'd be extremely boring with contract extensions. Everyone would have every player on their roster along with stacked DD players, which is one reason I hated NBA 2k's my team. It wasn't fun facing Jordan every game nor would it be fun facing a team full of Trouts and Cabreras.

Not being able to keep players keeps it from becoming the boring MUT mess where everyone is running around with super teams after a while. You have to actually plan out what players you'll develop, how much you'll put into them, and how much you out into finding the next generation. It's leaps and bounds ahead of UT game modes for me.

Re: First time player to DD

Well after looking into the mode more I agree not keeping the players while it sucks to rebuild all the time I can for sure see why it is built in this way.

So I jumped into a few games so far really fun when the server is not lagging. That aside, so the Extra inning part of the mode says my team will earn budget when I am not online. Well 2 weeks now and I have not seen a dime. Do I have to do anything Special like sign up for something, register somewhere. I have played a few Extra Inning games?

to get the most out of this mode is it best to do Head to Head or Vs CPU or Extra Inning?

                  Thanks again

Re: First time player to DD

Regarding extra innings, there is a window you have to hit on the DD menu to claim anything you get; it's the top middle on the main DD screen. You don't have to do anything to have people play your team, although I usually play teams with logos if everything else is about equal so if you don't have one then maybe make one? Also after I won a couple head to head games and went up in rank some I noticed I got challenged a bit more in Extra innings. Still like 1-2 times a day, so like 50k-150k per day so it isn't a big deal, but it's a nice little bonus.

For how to get the most out of the mode, it really depends on if you like online multiplayer or not. In the past I really haven't in sports games. If you don't then you really can play basically as a single player mode, doing EI games all the time and just doing it that way. If you do like online multiplayer then that's the way to go. Rewards are higher in head to head so if you want to optimize your team you should really only play that, but I usually do one head to head game a day or so when I have time to sit and play for an hour uninterrupted, and an EI game or two since they can be paused.

Head to head is sort of what it's about though, despite the ability to play it otherwise. You'll move up in division, gain rank points, and accumulate budget faster, none of which you can do without playing H2H. Also you get to actually imagine (or listen to if they have a mic) the other guy's reaction when his SS throws the ball over the 1B head for what would have been the final out of the game.

I don't really get MLB games. You get more if you lose MLB game than if you lose and EI game, but you get more if you win the EI game, by more than enough to balance it out in my experience. I only played one so I may be missing something.

Thanks Fballturkey, for the nice breakdown I just got promoted to the SS div so now maybe I will start seeing the small bonus income.

I really am trying to get into the Head to Head play. I have only been able to play One full H2H game as most players quit early as soon as they see you don't chase every pitch or you take lead of more then 1 run! Hopefully with the promotion I start finding the better more Baseball sim gamers.

Thanks y'all for helping me learn this mode!!

I've played about 10 games and haven't had anyone quit, so now that you've moved up a little hopefully you stop seeing it too.

So it looks like I can't progress toward the next league by playing MLB teams (the AI). Will I make progress if I play Extra Inning games? Or only by playing live online (which I'm not wild about doing)? Similarly, can I earn a rating in Extra Innings, or only live?

More generally, what do people spend their B currency on? Training, or packs, or both?

It really would be nice if you could designate ONE player as a "franchise" player and let him have a 162 game contract. Then once that is done, choose another "franchise" player.

Also - can you play a friend in this mode? Or any other mode for that matter?

takes some work, but possible best way is to get in party and confirm play now by both pressing on say three count to get matched up
