Opening game of the season, both teams will be happy to scramble away with a point, after a thrilling game ended in a 2-2 affair.

Will Real Sociedad really be happy with a draw? They should have beaten Getafe, and beaten them bad. The first half was controlled by Getafe and Sociedad came out of the second half with a changed mentality, with Tshabalala replacing Granero, who was lackluster on the right hand side for Sociedad.

Vela, who received a game rating of 8.3, scored the deserved penalty in the 85th minute, which looked like Real had stolen the win. However, Getafe managed to have one more attack, with the ball beating the keeper but hitting the post, Denis tapped the ball into the empty net to ensure that Getafe would walk away with at least a point.

They did, but luckily. Sociedad were outplayed during the first half, having just 42% of possession but outplayed their opponents in the second half, having 8% more -- with four more shots than Getafe.

The one thing that doomed Real Sociedad? They completed just 78% of their passes, compared to Getafe's 91%.

It's the game the fans were expecting Real to play, although it came one week too late. Real Sociedad slaughtered Elche 4-1, which included a penalty save by goalkeeper Bravo.

The game was all Sociedad's. They controlled the game, winning possession by 58% to 42% and having seven more shots than the newly promoted team.

Sociedad passed the ball much better in this game. They played more fluently and looked prepared. Although Griezmann has yet to shine this season, Carlos Vela has performed outstandingly and was given man of the match with a rating of 8.8 for today's effort.

Tshabalala also made his first starting appearance and performed admirably. Sociedad may not win the league this season but they should vie for a Champions League spot.

In one of the bigger games of the La Liga season, the bout didn't dissappoint as the visitors scrambled away with a 2-1 lead after building up a 2-0 half-time lead.

Atletico Madrid struck early and then again, later, with Arda Turan connecting on a volley from a cross with seconds remaining before half-time.

Despite having five more shots than Madrid, Sociedad lacked on the passing game, completing just 77% of their passes compared to Madrid's 86, and also held just 45% of possession throughout the game.

The game was a measuring stick for Sociedad. They are a good team and went up against a better squad, falling just short. If this game is to go by, Sociedad are going to compete for a top five place in the league at least.

As the scoreline suggests, the Erreala stomped all over Levante en-route to a 3-1 victory, with Tshabalala scoring early on and Castro putting the game away in stoppage time.
