LOL @ Aldo getting dropped like this was an action movie (3:41 animation and everything) and then going to his back like nothing happened. With that type of animation he should be knocked out cold. Besides that hilarity, it looks like a fun multiplayer game.

The action seems to be slower the heavier the weight class. aholbert posted another thread with another vid and there was some LHW gameplay and they moved noticeably slower. But I do feel from this gameplay vid it could be slowed down a tad bit, but I bet it looks much better without people spamming the controls. There was alot of that which made it look weird at times.
Itโ€™s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didnโ€™t.

I dont think the "fast" complaint is entirely valid. Pettis and Aldo are two of the fastest fighters in the game so the action is going to be fast. Its clear that the two people playing the game were trying to show off the striking. Finally if you watch some of the other clips its clear that the higher weight classes are much slower.

I think you are correct here. It seems to be just the volume of strikes being thrown in short spans makes it seem much faster than it actually is. Like someone said previously, it would be interesting to see 2 people playing that are being strategic and/or trying to do a lot of counter-striking.

+ Good to see Also can fight at LW. Hopefully GSP can fight at MW too.

+ So many little things going on in the background. Ring girls going around the octagon during Pettis' intro. Aldo's corner going crazy in the background during the fight.

+ Love the amount of leg checks and love the standing elbows.

+ Love that stamina has a real effect. Pettis gasses because the person contolling him was throwing strikes non stop.

                    - Didnt love some of the takedown transitions. Looks like they are missing an animation as players go from sprawled to upright a little too quick.

                    - The Aldo slam into side control was a little much. Dont see that much coming from a straight double leg from a guy like Aldo.

Agree with this, although I had more problems with striking than you probably. I think the spinning headkicks, spinning backfists, cartwheels and bicycle kicks all seemed too fast RELATIVE to the regular punching and kicking techniques (which I really wish I saw a lot more of and people mounting a more conservative/realistic offense)

Continuing with the striking theme, aldo was knocked silly and down with 2 big left hooks, went down and got up as if nothing happened. I also really wish there wasn't a HUD, but way too many people whine for it so I guess it just is what it is.

I do think that, for the most part, the right strikes created the most damage though - there were couple of iffy instances but for the most part the best timed strikes that connected the cleanest caused the most damage. I really hope that cheesing cartwheel kicks has a big penalty and that if you miss, you're out of position and off balance, it's just not a good techinque with not much power relative to other 'flashy' techniques.

I hope the controls are more responsive than EA mma which I thought felt stuck in the mud and delayed. I want to be able to win fighting like Kampmann for example

As great as this game looks, I'm disappointed that it only runs at 30 fps. To me 1080p + 60 fps should be the standard for all Next Gen games. Those saying the game looks a little choppy is because it's only 30 fps. That said, the game does look visually impressive & other than the frame rate I can't find too many negatives. Very impressed with the foot planting & animations. I didn't notice any player clipping/morphing which is astonishing considering how much contact is going on. Presentation looks awesome as well. Good job EA!

Initial response to this footage is that it looks great graphically, movements look natural, game play seems decent but can't really judge gameplay truly until I get my hands on it. All in All looks pretty impressive for you know... an EA sports game.

I just have to add one more thing in looking at the video again... choppy movement you all keep stating??? Im just not seeing it, maybe your streamin has a delay or something but I just don't see it. The movement is smooth and one of the best I've seen in a fighting game.

Next I just wanted to add the blocking animations .... BEAUTIFUL!!

ok...thats good enough for me. The slam by aldo felt a bit unrealistic...but everything else was sick. All i am praying for now is that there is not any cheap tactics (look at all of you punch flickers out there) and online play is solid

Maybe choppy isn't the right word. I guess what bothers me a bit (and again, I'm day one buying so it isn't nearly a deal breaker) is that since most of the motions seem so natural and like they have weight behind them, the few that don't seem really out of place. Kind of an uncanny valley situation. The two big ones that stood out were the escape to standing from side control, and the missed cartwheel kick.

I'll look at those two moments again when I get home and see if I'm being overly critical.
