As a closet Pistons fan, I hope they trade down with Philly who has picks #3 and 10. This way they could still get one of Wiggins, Embiid, or Parker AND they could get another top tier college player @ #10... im thinking Gary Harris may still be there or maybe trade that down and snag Adriean Payne and a future pick.

Parker or Wiggins.
Embiid injuries concern me and his agent trying to get him to the Lakers.
Also, Bennett is a PF, and not a SF.Comment

Re: Sports Daily: Who Should Cleveland Pick?
What Cleveland should do is go back in time. Draft Kyrie and Thompson again, but in the second round instead of taking Justin Harper draft Chandler Parsons and instead of drafting Milan Macvan draft Isaiah Thomas.
Fast forward a year, draft Drummond instead of Waiters and Draymond Green instead of Jared Cunningham.
Fast forward a year and draft Oladipo instead of Bennett and Dieng instead of Karasev.
Fast forward to current time.
New Team: Kyrie/Oladipo/Parsons/Thompson/Drummond
Bench: Thomas/Green/Dieng
At this point they draft Wiggins as the scoring punch off the bench unless he proves to be immediately good enough to start over Parsons..
Or they take Randle and start him at power forward, probably instantly becoming a top 5 rebounding team with Randle and Drummond, moving Thompson to a 6th man role who can play PF/C.
Problems solved! You're welcome lol

Re: Sports Daily: Who Should Cleveland Pick?
MUST:
Pick Emiid.
Re-sign Deng & Hawes.
Sign George Karl, Doug Collins or Mark Jackson.
OPTIONAL:
Pick up Varejao's $9.8 million contract next season.
Trade Varejao, Thompson, and Waiters for Joe Johnson.
Pick up Varejao's $9.8 million contract next season.
Trade Thompson, Bennett and picks for Arron Afflalo.Last edited by vtcha; 05-23-2014, 07:07 PM.Comment

Trade Varejao, Thompson, and Waiters for Joe Johnson? After already overpaying to keep Deng? No way.

Re: Sports Daily: Who Should Cleveland Pick?
Hence why I said they're optional :P
Anyway, if they pick Emiid (and he stays healthy), re-sign Deng and Hawes, and hire a formidable coach, they should be Playoff bound without a doubt. I think the most important factor will be the coach. Furthermore, I don't really trust Waiters, Thompson and Bennett enough hence why I threw those trade proposal. I think the Cavs can definitely use someone like Afflalo over Waiters but I just don't see whom other teams would want from the Cavs without them giving up a valuable asset. Also re-signing Varejao to a cheaper contract would be a more feasible option (don't know what I was thinking earlier lol). All in all, with the right coach, and trading for a guy like Afflalo, this team can be pretty good defensively, much like Charlotte this season.Last edited by vtcha; 05-24-2014, 03:01 AM.Comment

Re: Sports Daily: Who Should Cleveland Pick?
Deng is long long gone. He doesn't fit the roster, he doesn't want to be in Cleveland, and to be honest, I don't think the Cavs want him. He looked beyond old and slow with Cleveland last year. He's gone right past Dwayne Wade as the player who isn't 40 but plays like it.
On fumes was a great way to describe his play with the Cavaliers.Too Old To Game Club
Urban Meyer is lol.Comment

Re: Sports Daily: Who Should Cleveland Pick?
I've always wanted Parker, to the point I wished the Cavs could have used last year's pick on his rights. However, Embiid is the smart pick if his back is healthy. If not, Wiggins is the sexy pick. Either of those two can help make up for Kyrie's defensive deficiencies.
I'd like them to trade Waiters just because he's a volume shooter, and they won't need that. Feel like he's the guy who thrives on being the leading scorer for a losing team. After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!Comment

Re: Sports Daily: Who Should Cleveland Pick?
I'm partial on this because I think Parker is the best player in the draft (not necessarily the best prospect, but he's the most ready, in terms of skillset. Plus, living in ACC & SEC country, I saw a lot more of him than I did of Wiggins & Embiid)
Wiggins has become this hugely sexy media pick because of his athleticism and potential, but if I'm the Cavs, I don't draft on potential right now. They need someone that can make an immediate impact. Guys like Wiggins don't pay off right away. Look at someone like T-Mac. It took him a 4 or 5 years to really reach his full potential. Wiggins is a freak athlete with some good skills, but Parker is the most ready to come in and put up numbers for a team that desperately needs numbers. I predict that where ever he goes, Jabari is going to put up 20+ per game and 6 or 7 rebounds per game, right away. His skillset and body type translate better to the NBA (assuming he'll get his *** in shape before the season)
Embiid, in my opinion, is a strictly upside pick. And again, for a team that better start winning soon, to keep Kyrie, you can't draft upside. You can't be waiting around for a few years on someone to figure it out.Last edited by st0rmb11; 05-24-2014, 05:52 PM.
