I personally can't see Schoolboy Q or Katy Perry on a NHL soundtrack.

It would be nice to see some more Anthrax and/or Judas Priest.

Classified Run With Me was featured in NHL 13 soundtrack on a Hip Hop music. Schoolboy Q would be a nice fit, esp. some fans and players that are into Hip Hop. Avicii Wake Me Up or Hey Brother would also fit in nicely in an NHL soundtrack. Anthrax or Judas Priest would do well in FIFA since Madden NFL does not have actual soundtrack since few years ago.

I really hope they take into consideration that neither console can currently support custom tracks to be implemented on games (will eventually) and for that reason, have a HUGE soundtrack. Watch Dogs has near 100+ songs on it. In contrast to the graphics, game, engine (etc), I'd like to think that adding an MP3 for songs will be easy. Add the neccessary crap ton of hockey stadium based songs as well as other rock/alternative ones for the menus and I'll be happy.

Blah. There's a 99% chance I'll just shut off the soundtrack anyways on the menus. Lately I've been doing this with every sports game. The soundtracks are always bad.

Instead of Katy Perry, Ke$ha Warrior makes more sense as it's a good hockey tune like Avril Lavigne & New Politics Harlem that was featured in NHL 14.

I hope they do what MLB the show did and include the custom sound option, that way when mp3 support is available, it's a smooth transition. I really hope sony fixes this before it's even an issue but who knows

The soundtrack this year was asssss and I'm sure it will be again.. can't wait till Dropkick Murphy's are in the game for the 19th yr in a row.

^lol,ironically I feel the opposite about it. NHL series for me has had better songs in it than other sports games. MLB(specifically MVP 05) has best songs,but NHL overall is better.

I just hope they still have custom sounds. I know PS4 people won't get to have it,but hopefully everyone else gets it. Custom music in main menu and ESPECIALLY during the game(breaks in play specifically) adds so much to the overall presentation. I honestly can't even play a game anymore without custom music cause it just feels so boring/generic without the custom music between plays.

I need to correct you here. Sony has confirmed that MP3 & CD support are coming. It is just a matter of when. I am growing impatient waiting for this but at least I know they are working on bringing this feature.

Now to your second point. When you say "I hope everyone else gets it", I assume you are referring to the Xbox One.

The Xbox One is actually just as bad in regards to custom soundtracks, in fact it is worse. They DO NOT support direct MP3 storage or CD burning. The only way you can play "your own" music on the Xbox One is via the "play-to" function by way of DLNA streaming.

In order to stream your music you have to "snap" the music player on your screen. Who wants to play NHL w/ a music player snapped to the side? I know I don't. I would also imagine there would be some lag in the files playing. Plus you are reliant on your DLNA streaming device being powered on at all times when playing.

PS: Don't take my word for it, here's a link where someone outlines these issues.

I am no Sony fanboy. I had a 360 this past gen. I have actually yet to purchase either console. But the "custom soundtrack" feature is very important to me. I play NHL more than any other game & like you said yourself I am at the point as well where I cant even play NHL w/o the custom soundtracks by Cycloniac. It's like a different game w/ the custom music.

Who knows what gets patched or added in the future. But lets just remember that neither console shipped w/ music media support. So Microsoft has already responded. Sony has not. This DLNA streaming feature is what Microsoft came up with. So right now it looks better for PS4 at least in how the NHL series uses custom music for soundtracks.

Anyway I hope this clears things up. I'm not trying to be combative here, just wanted to set the record straight regarding the custom music feature. Lets hope both consoles figure it out.

Great post. My hope is that EA includes the custom sound option. Even if we can't do anything with it at first, once sony finally enables mp3, we can add the custom sound immediately.

MLB the show did this "Sounds of the Show". I'm hoping EA has the same thinking.
