Now to put up the post I intended of putting up before answering what I could.
I really hope people are enjoying these rosters.
I have been playing Video game baseball since RBI baseball in '88, in around '91 when a game called Hardball for the PC was the first game to have real shaped people and stadium graphics, Tony LaRussa Baseball which actually had full player names and you could input stats to try and get realistic results, the MVP and Triple Play series followed by The Show in 07 til now.
I got to spend some quality time with the game the past 2 days - got through the first 7 games of Spring Training with my Jays, and really am impressed with the game play.
Of course some of you are going to say, "he is just pushing his own roster"
And yes to a point I am - but that is because like many of you, when we first embarked on this project I had my share of questions about the accuracy and even why we were doing what we were. Last year AC Milan and tbbucsfan01 talked me into using the ZiPs numbers, and when I did the ratings I thought we were making a mess of the SCEA numbers and doing more then we needed too. I also thought Pitch Edits were not necessary.
This real is for real guys - watching players not get to balls that others will - or watching a 3B make the grab on the line, step in foul territory and get the guy running to first only to watch a player with inferior abilities either watch the ball go by or get to the ball and not have the arm to throw the runner out to me is amazing - the fact that my first baseball game on the NES - RBI Baseball, if you hit the ball to third base you could actually get to 2B before the throw reached 1B in some cases, has come to this is amazing.
And the best part is I know SCEA is only going to make a better game next year and make us put more work into these rosters.
I was blessed to have the crew that worked on this project this year - everyone of these guys brought something new to look at to the table - mainly Teeds who just can't settle for a forehead crease being out of place - the faces this year from the OSFM crew have brought the PS4 version to a whole new world for me.
Unfortunately there are things on the Ps4 that drive me nuts but we can't control - hopefully they fix the cap bill and shoe edits for next, maybe allow us to edit coaches and managers and get the Sounds of The Show back with MP3 capability - but aside from that - this is something to be enjoyed - hope all of you do
