Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
This may be a stretch, idk, but NBA 2k is being offered for free to ps plus members. Does 2k usually do this or could this be another way to draw attention to the 2k sports brand before introducing gamers to a football title?
It might be nothing, I just never heard of them offering the game for free like this and the timing was interesting again.Comment

Hmm very interesting. They do a college basketball classic though and don't have a college bb all game but I hope this means somethingmeanwhile 2K Sports is organizing for the first time a Football "classic" event in New York next September:

I know they usually sponsor a college bball tourney, but this is a weird one. This, as far as I know, is a FCS college game between NYC area schools.meanwhile 2K Sports is organizing for the first time a Football "classic" event in New York next September:

That's a sponsorship, not a 2k organized event.meanwhile 2K Sports is organizing for the first time a Football "classic" event in New York next September:

Either way what's your opinion on what this may mean for a 2K football game? That's a sponsorship, not a 2k organized event.

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
I don't think the tattoos themselves equate to 2K coming back. I think it's about what the tattoos represent.
Tattoos on a player model represent little details. And EA never has shown any interest in adding little character details to their players or games.
I just think it's interesting that this is the first we are getting anything of specific detail about Madden 15, and it's an image showing the most well depicted/replicated player model we have ever seen. It's not just a pretty screenshot of Adrian Peterson leaping over a defender or a close up of RG3's face. Here, it's the body, arms, skin tone, face scan, tats--it all genuinely looks like Colin Kap. It's unmistakably Colin Kap.
To me, that level of attention to detail is typically 2K's arena. Doesn't mean 2K is definitely coming back, but it just personally confirms my own suspicion that they are.Last edited by PacMan3000; 06-05-2014, 11:11 AM.Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
The point is: why sponsoring a football game when you're a sports games publisher not releasing football games ??
I see the point in sponsoring Basketball games like they did past years: people attending to the games are potential customers of NBA2K. So why starting now to do the same with a Football game ?Comment

Do you guys remember this 2K Sports job posting last October http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/2...UI_artists.php Could this have been the beginning of the rebirth of NFL 2K Football!?Comment

No reason to think this was anything other than extra art staff to help with increased detail of NBA as it made the jump to next-genDo you guys remember this 2K Sports job posting last October http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/2...UI_artists.php Could this have been the beginning of the rebirth of NFL 2K Football!?Comment

EA Sports sponsors the Maui Classic, yet does not make a college basketball game. The point is: why sponsoring a football game when you're a sports games publisher not releasing football games ??

2K sponsors a Coaches vs Cancer basketball game (or series) and doesn't make college basketball games anymore either.Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
EA sports makes a BASKETBALL video game.
2k sports makes a BASKETBALL video game.
Again his point is, why sponsor a FOOTBALL event if you dont make a FOOTBALL game.
I dont think he is saying this is evidence that finally proves 2k is making a football game again, but if people are going to use CK's arm tattoos being in madden as evidence that 2k is coming back, this sponsored event is better than most of the stuff some people have come up with. IMO if you're going to pull straws, this at least makes sense.Last edited by johnnyg713; 06-05-2014, 01:18 PM.Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
This thread toys with my emotions.
1 post logically explains why a ge is coming
1 post logically explains why one isn't.
If they announce a 2k football game, it will be my Olympic victory over Russia. Do you believe in miracles?Comment
