Tough decision to make
I'm trying to decide which game I want to buy wwf no mercy for n64 or wwe here comes the pain ps2. Can I get some insight? I have old school systems in my man cave and need at least 1 wrestling game. As memory serves these are the best and from what I read on threads these are def the fan favorites. I just can't decide which I should get ill prob get both eventually being that hctp is $8 and no mercy is $7.99. But I'm only buying 1 right now just want some help deciding which I should getNFL: Steelers

Re: Tough decision to make
I think No Mercy is the best of the two. HCTP was great, but it's a little more arcade than I like. I love the grappling and flow of matches in No Mercy.
I'm going to have to go back and youtube some HCTP matches though. You've piqued my interest in it again, haha.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Tough decision to make
Hctp has the better roster for someone my age (22) but I think I had a better experience with no mercy. Only thing I fear about no mercy is the hours played glitch that happened on 80% of cartridges that after so many hours the whole game erases. They fixed it but when they fixed the glitch they removed blood. So no mercy is risky but def more multi player fun. We been having mario Mondays at my house last 3 weeks with mario kart and mario party I also have blitz and 007. It's a blastNFL: Steelers

Re: Tough decision to make
No mercy. Just for the creation suite alone. For a game so old, it's really versatile and also being able to edit the ai a bit for each wrestler. The gameplay has aged pretty good too. Here comes the pain plays pretty similar to todays wwe games.Because I live in van down by the river...Comment

Re: Tough decision to make
I most likely will get both but I try not to buy to many games at once because I don't use them especially of the same kind. No mercy I think will be the best option for right now especially after looking at caws because I use my man cave and older systems for mostly multiplayer but I have been watching YouTube videos on hctp and it looks like a blast I remember playing for hours. I really wish the new wwe games would incorporate the ratings challenge like svr for the universe. I love starting universes only to lose intrest because there is no real goal to universe. Does anyone know any good no mercy season mode YouTube videos to watch that aren't mods?
Thanks for all the inputNFL: Steelers

Re: Tough decision to make
No Mercy because it'll make a man out of you.
You have these kids fight the A.P.A on the hardest difficulty in a handicap match today and we'll be have a patch tomorrow talking about how "broken" the game is. FOH casuals!
But yeah, No Mercy or just go deep and get both!2012 Baltimore Orioles - Left us way too soon. Fun ride, fellas!Originally posted by OriolesfanRD Favorite Teams- Baltimore Ravens

Re: Tough decision to make
I absolutely hated No Mercy / Revenge / Wrestlemania 2000 / AKI wrestling games. I found the controls to be clunky (especially on the Nintendo 64 controller which in my opinion is the worst controller that has ever existed), and the graphics (especially the way character models were put together with disjoint arms) IMO were awful and haven't aged well. The customization level of the game, which IIRC allowed full customization of the entire on-catridge roster, was cool, though.
I much prefer just about any game in the Yuke's line of wrestling games over just about anything AKI has produced.
I realize this opinion is at odds with most of the wrestling video game community, haha.Comment

Re: Tough decision to make
Only people I know who didn't like no mercy were people who were atleast 4 years younger than me and started out with a ps2/Xbox and don't understand those graphics were amazing for their time or how stunned everyone was with the slide show titantron haha. But wrestling games have improved in someways that make no mercy seem like a cell phone game so I can understand.NFL: Steelers

Re: Tough decision to make
No mercy had a lot more strategy back then compared to today's wwe game. The wrestlers were better represented back then and again you could tweak their ai with submission frequency and top rope move frequency, you could even edit their reversal move type such as heavy, kung fu etc. And you could have 4 attires. Different attired tooBecause I live in van down by the river...Comment

Re: Tough decision to make
They also had a different story line for each title. I can't think of a wwe game since that had more than one story line outside of the ability to create them in universe and well 2ks recent installmentNFL: Steelers
