I knocked hobbled both guys, but knocked Jones down with the L1+right-kick (no left stick movement) leg kick from Gus. It was kind of cool because it looked painful and almost like I swept him karate kid style. .... But he recovered quickly. I think hurt areas get hurt easier later in the fight, but it's not a real strategy at this point imo. 100% not with the accel clock.

When I knocked Jones down I was limiting myself to only jabs, crosses and legkicks as well as the odd body kick. I lost a decision since Jones slammed Gus 2-3 times per round. My out-striking + knockdown + 3 Takedowns wasn't enough, .... seems like pretty realistic judging!! lol ... although to be fair 2/3 of Jones takedowns were big slams.

The more I played the more I think I might be able to have some fun using my own house rules vs the cpu. Not as much as it could have been though, it's still MMA spazzed out on crack.

But to your question, if I didn't get one in that bout it seems like a long-shot that it's included.

So one issue I'd like fixed is the lack of visual struggle in the submission part of the game. I'm fine with the mini game, but I started watching a compilation video and noticed that the fighter on defense doesn't struggle at all.

At the 4:13 mark Jones is going for a RNC and with one arm in Gus keeps both his arms on the mat and they rock back and forth to some smooth jazz. It would be nice to see the visual struggle to go with the mini game.

Can you sway in this game? Im clearly getting old but how do you sink in a sub? Use RS first then you have to flick LS and Rs at the same time when it shows?

Hold L2 and Flick up or down on the left stick.

I just finished an inveryed triangle from side control with Gustaffson. But it was different this time. Jones refused to tap, and went out. Rogan aknowleged it said he refued to tap and went night night. Freaking awesome!

The release of the sub was different too. Instead of getting in his face after the tap, he tapped jones chest, as if he was checking on him to make sure he was ok. I wonder if there will be any tap refusals on joint locks. Tap or snap!

he said it's not an apple to.apple comparison so he can't confirm for sure if final.game jones/gustaffson has less aggressive ai than the demo ai. He also.commented that 180 punches by gusta after 11 minutes of fighting in an accelerated clock is not that far off from real life gustafson when he fought jones ( 160 punches in 15 real minutes). I dont agree with that at all.

My take is that because his statements created a big stir as he mentioned, he wanted to temper expectations from.people expecting a much less aggrrssive ai.from jones/gusta in the retail version.

I'm with aholbert, machida's cpu ai will make or break this game ffor me. If he fights like jones/gusta in this demo, no way i will purchase the game.

Q: Will there be any noticeable changes from the demo gameplay to the actual gameplay, given the short period until its full release?

A: There was a lot of tuning and bug fixing that happened between the time the demo was released and the time we shipped the retail version of the game.
So to answer your question, yes the gameplay will change. Will it be noticeable? I certainly hope so.

Q: Thanks a ton for coming in and answering some questions! I was wondering if switching between the accelerated clock and using real time will have any impact on the gameplay. Are there any differences in stamina and damage of strikes (ie a "arcade" vs. "simulation" mode)?

A: The stamina drain and damage are based on actions performed and are not a function of round length or number of rounds. As a result, I believe you'll have to work harder to conserve stamina in a real time clock fight as you'll be much more gassed at the end of the round than if you don't. You'll also have to play more defensively as there will be more time for damage to accumulate. Or you can spam strikes, gas out and get KO'd

Q: In the Demo, both Jones and Gus are constantly going forward without a second thought, forcing you to either slug things out Diego Sanchez Gilbert Melendez style, or backpeddle. Where is that " MMAI " we were hearing about?
Is this caused by the easy difficulty making it easy to catch the opponent after a few secs of blocking while they're spinning around wasting stamina? or has this been worked on after the Demo release?

A: Honestly I would say both. The difficulty setting is definitely a factor, tuning was done between the time the demo shipped and the retail version was complete, and of course the different fighters will behave differently.
I don't want to promise anything because everyone's idea of what a good CPU AI should look like is different, but I certainly wouldn't write off the CPU AI based off the small fraction of the game you've experienced.
Check out reviews and videos once the retail version comes out and make your judgement then.

Other notes real quick
-You will not see Roy Nelson doing cage kicks.
As for the smoothness for the game...I think it will be better. Like I said -somewhere else there are a lot of bug fixes that went in after the demo was complete. But it's such a subjective thing it's hard to know what you're seeing that's contributing to it. I know I cringe when I watch the demo videos a bit because I see things I know we fixed. Are they the same things you're seeing. Not sure. I hope so.

Any other way to get Bruce Lee without a pre order from GS? Don't wanna have to drive all the way to one but I would like to have him as a fighter
