I know that 2K Football is all about being a better game from the gameplay perspective. I just have to say that I will be disappointed (to say the least) if it is just another bare-bones game like APF was with 'Season' mode.

This is assuming we hear anything about it. I am trying to temper my excitement as I have been let down annually since 2008.

I don't understand the grounds for saying something like that. He doesn't work for 2K, so any info he gets would have to come from a source. Whether it's credible or not will be based on the outcome, not on how he mentioned his source.

General comment: I'll never understand some of the witch hunting that goes on around here. Everyone on earth is not lying all the time or mounting some massive conspiracy to fool just a small group of people while making $0.00 doing it. I believe the man heard something from a source he respects and he's simply sharing it. Nobody should be crucified for sharing information. All it does is discourage people from doing it in the future, and it reflects badly on a community.

I'm to the point that I want this to happen, not just because I want another football game, but so that some who seriously deserve to be humbled might be humbled, even for just a moment. The guy is still a member here, a higher level of decorum should be a given.

I wish more people on OS was like this. Great Post. I would love to see 2K return to the game of football. However, I am at a point where I would be more surprised than disappointed by an announcement.

I have been hoping and praying for 2K to make a comeback. Hopefully a lot of prayers will be answered tonight!

I am sick of paying for a roster update every year, sadly I can't go without a football game.

I hope for a PC-Version of NFL 2k-Game instead of an only console-release. Because of the fact, that I haven´t a console-system and I don´t want to buy it.

Anyway, if 2k Sports revealing a new NFL 2k-Game, then it will be during the Sony-Press-Conference just like NBA 2k-series does.

So are we wrong to have hope? Many of you have given up hope and thats fine, but why talk down to us like you are better? Obviously you still are intrigued because you're on this forum. So you say that NFL 2K is not coming back, where are your sources? Are they credible? The same questions can be asked for those that believe 2K will not return. Let us be hopeful

There's something else nobody wants to talk about...2k's current strategy with its NBA series. If there WAS a 2k football game, how many of you guys would be okay with a VC-driven franchise mode? Because with how 2K's done business in the last several years, I could totally see that happening. And I'd imagine the rosters would be more locked down as well - I think people forget sometimes that (IMO) the best games of 2K5 we had were with globally edited rosters, which means that you're more or less playing an entirely different game than what it was out of the box. We used to have more control over stuff like that - we don't anymore. It's different than it was in 2005.

I won't lie - my opinion of 2k Sports has soured pretty heavily in the last few years with the direction they've gone in their NBA series, and removal of its baseball series (no attempt to improve it to compete with its single-platform competition). However, since I don't particularly care for the NBA's brand (and haven't since the Bulls championship days) I've never had to worry about it. If they made a football game again, I would.

IF (and that's a big IF) 2K Football does come back it undoubtedly will be VC driven and I'm sure there will be a lot of resources focused on modes like MyTeam as well.

aholbert32 has done a good job detailing why a new football game is a potential risk, especially sales wise... However, what I haven't seen is someone take into account the money that the add-ons like these this provide. I've seen guys in the 2k bball forums claim that they've spent hundreds and even thousands of dollars on VC and for MyTeam. That a revenue stream that they didn't have 10 years ago and something that would surely help in absorbing the cost for the NFL License.

Again, I think the chances of 2k Football is pretty slim, but I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if we did get some news that it is coming back in the future. My fingers will be crossed.

VC driven NFL2K would be frustrating but still better than no NFL2K haha. Imagine NFL MyPlayer mode like they did with the NBA 2K on the next gen this year.

I think that IF this game were to come out, it would be amazing for it to be on PC. Last Madden on PC was 08 and I still play it every now and then because of the modding of it still keeps it fresh.

Not that there is much of a chance but I would imagine any chance we would have to see this game announced would be during the sony presser, only reason being is Microsoft and EA seem to have a partnership with Madden and NFL content. The only other possibility is maybe announce it during the EA conference to create some buzz but I don't know how they would do that and have it top news.

But remember aside from EA's prsser there is next to no sports gaming at E3 it is definitely one of the lower priority genres there with platformers and FPS taking most of the coverage.
