And you, apparently, are one of those that is a sucker every year for EA's mega-hype machine! Send me a PM in August and let me know how all this turns out. I'm sure 95% of what they're bragging about will be nothing more than words that fall flat once the game is shipped.I take it you missed the several blog posts calling out the brand-new defensive gameplay mechanics of defensive line play and tackling, complete rewrite of man and zone coverage AI, changes to the passing game to better differentiate quarterbacks, introduction of passing concepts to CPU QB AI and user play calling, changes to pre-plays audibles to slow down audible-abusing offenses, pre game and halftime show, broadcast presentation enhancements, graphics upgrades, and so on.
But yeah, the biggest thing Tiburon added this year was celebrations, sure.

Re: Madden NFL 15: Hands-On Impressions
They've talked about how they aren't going to remove features any more without giving them a real chance to become accepted & get fully developed, so I'd be shocked if it was gone.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 15: Hands-On Impressions
Good point and it doesn't really differ from what I'm trying to get at, that whether an INT occurs or not should play out as organically as possible in-game, not just be a scripted or preprogrammed outcome to prevent inflated stats. I don't expect or want defenders in-game to all have supped up catch ratings and I'm fine with dropped INTs with a reasonable corresponding animation as to why it was dropped.Interceptions are nerfed down in real life. Just take a look at this Football Outsiders article:
Andrew Luck had 18 interceptions in 2012. He should have had 14 more, but they were dropped.Comment

I thought I read from the Q&A with the game developer in which he stated there was WR/DB interaction? I could have sworn I read that from one of the questions. I would have to go back & see though. If not, this is ridiculous. This should be a given for this game by now. It's been asked to be added for years now. How hard can this be? Make the darn game like the NFL! Geez!
Dropped DB passes & no WR/DB interaction are two areas of gameplay that need to be addressed. Oh! It's OK! We have next year to wait & see if these get added. I can't believe some of this stuff that continues with this game. Do they even get any NFL player opinions on what to add to the game? Do they take the game cover guys at all & ask them for their input?
If they did we would see a much better game. Get some NFL players in the darn studio when making the game & let them help make this game. We would all be complaining less & love the game. I still like this game but they need to make big improvements.NCAA- GO VOLS

Re: Madden NFL 15: Hands-On Impressions
Rex Dickson has name-dropped at least three active NFL players who were consulted when designing various features of this year's game, including Panthers' quarterback Cam Newton and Steelers' linebacker Stevenson Sylvester. (I think the third was Steelers' CB Cortez Allen, not 100% sure though).
tl;dr - they are already doing this.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 15: Hands-On Impressions
Definitely feel your frustration but they seem to have chosen to address certain issues as in-depth as possible versus a less in-depth, sweeping approach. FYI, there is a write up stating that even though there doesn't seem to be an overhaul of WR/DB interaction that's sorely needed, the WR/DB fighting for the football/pass has improved.I thought I read from the Q&A with the game developer in which he stated there was WR/DB interaction? I could have sworn I read that from one of the questions. I would have to go back & see though. If not, this is ridiculous. This should be a given for this game by now. "...In Madden 15, WRs and DBs will make efforts to catch balls that are close. This parlays into some interesting animations for jump balls and diving catches where the DB will simultaneously make a play on the ball even if the play results in a catch from the WR. Compounded with additional adjustments to the catch windows and DB swat, the passing game is definitely more polished than it has ever been and a far cry from last year's frustrating stencil and stamp results...." http://traditionsportsonline.com/thr...-means.111074/Comment

Re: Madden NFL 15: Hands-On Impressions
I can't explain how much I really hope they do this more. IMO, they should just scrap the GC program all together and work on getting guys who have played and coached football at the highest levels in to help them work on certain aspects.Rex Dickson has name-dropped at least three active NFL players who were consulted when designing various features of this year's game, including Panthers' quarterback Cam Newton and Steelers' linebacker Stevenson Sylvester. Re: Madden NFL 15: Hands-On Impressions
Reading this has me somewhat excited, but unfortunately, I dont believe much of it. The things that get touted every year dont actually work in the game, then the following year, tiburon admits that none of it worked the year before. How many times is the coverage going to have to be re-written? Also, the blocking against three man rushes seems to not have been fixed. This results in everyone playing quarters all game. What happened to the adaptive AI that was touted against repeated routes? I mean, at what point is this considered false advertisement officially? If all of these things actually worked, madden would really be a nice game of football. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Re: Madden NFL 15: Hands-On Impressions
I want to believe in this game and believe all the hype but... I just can't. EA has made a ton of promises before and they always seem to find a way to jip us. I was watching the gameplay footage and while the graphics do look vastly improved, the problem remains that its basically new models using the same animations. IMHO the ignite physics engine is garbage. They need to just re-build Madden completely from the ground up instead of constantly adding bits and pieces to the same pile of crap. The game looks even more stiff in some ways. Watch the video and pay close attention to the animations. It still moves with a weird floaty stiffness until there's a pile up and players are flopping all over the place like crash dummies. I was hoping we would really see more natural flowing animations that represented true human movement. I mean this is next gen. I hope at least the defensive additions aren't just a trend and OP'd. But again, we will see.Comment
