You all say "gimmick" and "feature", I say "video game gameplay mechanic".

Insofar as Madden NFL is a video game, if whatever gimmick/feature/mechanic is well-designed, well-balanced, and augments the design and vision of the total game, I don't care what it's called. Of course marketing is going to put some fancy tag line on it to sell copies, that's their job.

With specific respect to the QB Vision Cone, I've been over why I thought that feature was poorly designed elsewhere. I remain neutral on the left-trigger ballcarrier moves; it kinda bloats the control set and strikes me as redundant to the existing moves, but it also helps differentiate good ball carriers from great ball carriers, so it has a purpose.
