How to stop lobs in the half-court cheese?

Wow, just finished playing where this guy threw about 20 lobs in a half-court set where his big would just be standing the near hoop with one of my bigs on him always. Everytime he threw the pass the big would go into some crazy animation like he was coming off a sprint and my big would just slide backwards. How can you stop this? I tried controlling the big and blocking the lob pass but it was too difficult to execute. Even double teaming the guard didn't work because the lob pass animation would just override the double team/trap animation. I even tried 1-3-1 cheese but that didn't work either, lol.. Any tips?

Defend the center manually and press L2/LT so that other center posts up or hold the right stick so he gets caught in an animation. That usually works for me.

I know he's on here but I forget his OS name. On Twitter his name is ElJelfe. He knows how to stop it.

Wait a sec.... This is cheese because of what? Because you can't stop it? Gtfo I seen it all. For starters, the 1-3-1 zone will only make the lob more likely to succeed. The best way to stop this is to play man to man. Your computer's defense should be fine in guarding the big man. If you so happen to be controlling the guy guarding against the player going for the oop, don't press x (or square) to try and steal it. Instead get between the basket and the player and hold L. The player should be knocked off his route and you get an easy turnover (most of the time).

Another problem you may be having is stopping the player driving and getting into the lane. I do this as well so I know how it works. As soon as a player beats their defender off the dribble and drives, the bigs put all their focus on that player (you can see this as literally their eyes and body shifts toward the player). This gives the player an easy ally-oop pass to one of the bigs standing under the basket.

I hope this helps and explains a little more on successful vs unsuccessful lob passes.

Usually just get in front if the guy. But sometimes contact is ignored when facing Blake, Dwight, Deandre , or Drummond
