I'm hoping Madden makes real strides this year but I'm at the point where a generic football game sounds good! College would be best but a generic game wouldn't be bad.

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
People need to just let the series, and non EA Sports created NFL titles in general, go peacefully away. It's very sad to admit, but we likely won't be seeing another sim football title from anyone else for a long, long time.

It's a shame we can get shooter sims with high graphical fidelity (ARMA) but everyone is afraid to make a generic simulation football game...Comment

Agree the closest you will get to a "true pure sim" will be a text sim which has no graphics.Texas A&M Aggies
Denver Broncos

If they had to pay tens of millions in licensing fees to make ARMA we wouldn't have that either.Comment

Sorry if posted already, but hopefully more well known NFL writers will be more vocal like the last paragraph in one of Florio's recent columns about the Madden Cover art and the exclusive:

Reading the comments from the article would tell you that even casuals think Madden is not a very good product. It's amazing how so many people can feel so strongly about something, yet EA can't seem to see it.Sorry if posted already, but hopefully more well known NFL writers will be more vocal like the last paragraph in one of Florio's recent columns about the Madden Cover art and the exclusive:

Screw all of you. I spent about 6 hours over the last couple of days reading through 114 pages. 114! Why are there 114 pages when nothing happened at all?! I figured that much talk had to have meant gigantic news. It's a canes thing.Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
The problem is we keep buying it.
Every year I say I'm never going to buy it and than I buy into the hype and buy it on release day. Madden is the least played game that I buy every year but the problem is I still buy it.--

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
I didn't buy madden from 2001 to 2011. Didn't miss it. I've gotten the game each year since 2011 on Craigs List. I will NOT buy the game new. Once it reaches a respectable level (my opinion of course) that warrants my money, THEN I will purchase it new. Until then, Craigs List it is.
EDIT: Played each of the games. I thought Madden 2005 was the best Madden comprehensively. 2k5 owned my soul that year, but if not for that, Madden 05 would have never left the tray and I would have purchased it at midnight. After the deal was signed, Madden became the worst sports game I ever played. Rented M06 for the 360 and was so disgusted I boycotted another 5 years.Last edited by GiantBlue76; 06-19-2014, 02:15 PM.Comment
