Re: Has anyone noticed the pre-play fidgets now?
And this is just from the demo. I never understood why EA takes things out of their game. I remember one year they had authentic team entrances. How about adding those for some variety. What about the QB storylines they had one year? You're right, I've watched a few vids and seen the same celebrations/animations over and over.I love little quirks and fidgets in game play. I've always looked for it in other games... Madden has a few this year.. but like most things they add... their isn't enough variety. Already in all the videos i've scene... the QB has done that neck cracking animation where he rolls his neck left and right as he approaches the line of scrimmage.. or he points to the to the linebackers.. every time!
It's progress... but doesn't seem very deep. Just like the intros.. I feel like i've seen all the intro's have to offer at this point from just seeing the E3 videos.. Coach kneeling on the ground with the QB before he comes out.. or leaning on his shoulder talking in to his ear.. RB/WR grabs his helmet and flips it up in the air. It just is NEVER varied enough. Why not keep the old team intros in the game and add these little things one by one each year? so there are many options on what could happen when the game starts? it makes no sense.
and as far as the real-time celebrations after plays.. I've seen the JJ watt salute, the dribble basketball fadeaway.. and the lebron celebration already many more times than I should have seen them at this point.Comment

Re: Has anyone noticed the pre-play fidgets now?
It might've been because the cpu was running the ball. I know at least in Madden 25, the cpu is not subjected to true step like the user is. The animations will start and stop short so the cpu can go where it wants to go. That's why I was really hoping true step was expanded on for all players.Yeah, I'm not seeing this in the recently released vids. One of the 1st to be release had James of the 49ers swerving up the sidelines. And I've seen it in other vids.
Those choppy steps, body leans & plants are not triggering nearly to the extent shown is these 2 vids you just posted. Both narrators are addressing & presenting exactly what I'm talking about, but it's not present in what's being released. I'll look closer.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Clint said he's confident that we will be pleased when we see what they did with CFM this year. We'll see.Comment

Re: Has anyone noticed the pre-play fidgets now?
Let me expand on what Clint said for CFM based on a twitter conversation between this person and Clint and the question I asked the person.
@chadkoon: @ClintOldenburg I'll give you a big sloppy wet kiss when I get the CFM experience I've been asking for! I'll blow a kiss to @Josh_Looman lol
@ClintOldenburg: @chadkoon I'm confident you'll be pleased.
Now here's what I asked Chad
@jpdavis1982: @chadkoon I saw Clint's tweet about CFM what are some things you've been wanting to see in it?
@chadkoon: @jpdavis1982 Further integration of HeadCoach09. Expanded/more realistic Draft. Playable Combine. Playable Senior Bowl. Among other things.Comment

Re: Has anyone noticed the pre-play fidgets now?
Being someone who is highly critical of the programmers who work on Madden (notice "programmers", not producers/directors), I fully expect to get disagreements with that theory at times (which is more than fair). However, one of the things that surprises me that more people don't bring up when it comes to that discussion to prove me wrong is Head Coach. NFL Head Coach was an absolutely incredible game when it came to depth and the goings on of an NFL franchise. I was literally blown away when I tried that game out. I may pick up on old copy of HC 09, because if I remember everything correctly, that game blew me away as far as what was included and how well it was implemented. If Madden incorporated Head Coach and enhanced it from where it left off, that would separate madden from any football game we've ever had (as far as career modes go). Give me contract holdouts, team chemistry issues, locker room elements, coach staff, finances. Give us all of that. Make it so engrossing that I'd be teetering on divorce after having the game for a month! lol.Comment

That really scares me. I'm going to be really upset if I can "play the combine" but can't have a coaching staff.Comment

Re: Has anyone noticed the pre-play fidgets now?
Wanted to bump this for JP. I hope you're not just making stuff up. I'd love to see where you saw this info. What you're wanting is something they haven't implemented yet but it's coming, new animation system and locomotion based on momentum. True Step only applies when you foot plant. The way players move overall is something they are still working on but again it's coming along with signature animations.Comment

Re: Has anyone noticed the pre-play fidgets now?
That is what I am worrying about as well, but still optimistically hoping for a good amount of features add to both Franchise and the draft. I hope there was presentation features added to both such as a weekly show ( which wouldn't have been discussed at E3 since it was strictly gameplay)
I know it's a long shot, but I would imagine there has to be some presentation features added to Franchise and the draft, considering it sounds like that is an emphasis this year.Texas A&M Aggies

Re: Has anyone noticed the pre-play fidgets now?
Why is Clint fielding these questions about CFM and not Looman? I find that odd.Comment

Re: Has anyone noticed the pre-play fidgets now?
Looman is most likely in twitter hiatus until info starts coming out.
As far as Clint goes, he seems like a cool as¤ dude... Straight forward answers, no bs and constant interaction. That's refreshing and highly appreciated.
With regards to his "you'll be pleased..." response, I wouldn't read too much into the question that granted said response.... my point is: I'm pretty he was just saying that people will be pleased with the overall changes made to the mode, and not saying that specific person would be satisfied with regards to those specific changes making it into the mode.
I'm actually hopeful for CFM this year... The team has had a full cycle to work on it (as CFM was untouched for next-gen M25, and there was little to none post-release support) so I'm guessing there was full focus on this.
I know, I know..... LOL on me

Re: Has anyone noticed the pre-play fidgets now?
Lol I don't make stuff up, it comes from Rex and the other dev team members in various podcasts and interviews. If you guys really want to get a pulse for this stuff and the direction this team is going long term, it takes time, but listen to the podcasts with Rex and Cam. Victor Lugo also talked about this subject but he left to work on a fighting game I believe, which is his true passion and where he came from with MMA.
Sim has said that everything we are wanting to see is coming and that also means the signature animations and momentum. Madden 15 is the first next gen title and I think we all understand that 25 was a port now. I expect an even bigger jump or as big from 15-16 as we are seeing with 15 from 25. Last year people compared what they were doing to what MLB the show did where the first game wasn't that impressive on ps3 and then the next one was a real next gen title. Madden is doing the same thing and will just keep building from here. Also keep in mind the 3 pillars of the Ignite engine, player sense, true player motion, and living worlds, each year those areas will be built on and improved and as other EA sports titles develop new tech like FIFA's emotion system, they can share that tech and add it to Madden too. That's one of the best parts about Ignite, it can be shared across titles allowing for quick implementation and as a result, a better game, faster than it would take without this shared tech.Comment
