EA Sports UFC Available Now, Post Your Impressions -
Operation Sports Forums
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Re: EA Sports UFC Available Now, Post Your Impressions
Having a blast with the game.
~Question for everyone, particularly the digital downloaders of the game!~
Do you ever experience any lag? And I don't mean online. I've been playing in career and I'll experience it during training and sometimes in a fight. It's not major, but it's noticeable and kinda annoying.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed/experienced this?

Me as well. I notice it in the career mode more. In TUF especially.

I'm liking the game , the only problem i'm having is with submissions. I did the BJJ challenge, got to level 6 where you have to make the cpu submit and i did for like 30 minutes and could not get the cpu to submit. I'm going to keep trying and not give up on it yet. I guess its more realistic then the submissions in UFC 3, but it sure is a lot harder. I'm 40, my stick skills are not what they use to be. Anybody have any tips for submissions
off topic , but i had made a 20 dollar donation on Monday and have not seen any changes yet. Can any Mod help me. thanks.

There are a couple things online that need to be addressed. Can you forward this to the online programmers please:
1) If your opponent quits a ranked match, you do not get the win. This means people waste their time playing a match without getting rewarded.
2) On PS4, it doesn't show the people you've Recently Met while playing UFC. How are we supposed to make friends on the game when you can't see who you last played?
Those are the two biggest issues for me right now. Gameplay is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lineup:
PG) Gary Payton
SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
C) Hakeem Olajuwon
Re: EA Sports UFC Available Now, Post Your Impressions
I'm really enjoying the game. It's still not a complete simulation experience, but, I don't think we could ever get that in a MMA game. I think it would be too difficult to map controls and players would likely get frustrated quickly. With that being said, I think it does an excellent job of creating compelling fights, challenging the user and making it fun.
I only played a handful of matches last night, but, they were challenging and some went the distance.
GSP (me) vs Hendricks - Scored the KO of Hendricks w/:04 seconds left in the 3rd round. Had it gone to decision, I think GSP would have taken it 29-28.
Weidman (me) vs Machida - 5 round battle. I turn HUD OFF so I don't know what to expect and Weidman took the decision 49-46.
Sonnen (me) vs Wandy - I got KO'd in the 1st round. My fault though, Wandy was so aggressive, that I felt like I would just stand and bang with him. Took him down once and should have kept him there, but, I actually stood the fight up and that was my mistake.
JDS (me) vs Travis Browne - Scored the KO of Browne in the 2nd round. Heavyweight fights are a whole different beast all together. They move slower, they are massively scaled and pack so much power behind their strikes.
The game is good but not perfect. A lot of big and small things that need to be taken care of. Hopefully they'll patch things and add DLC as they've mentioned earlier to do that. Also has anyone that's used Gameface question that their guy or girl looks like them? I did but I'm coming around to thinking that my fighter looks like me lol
Re: EA Sports UFC Available Now, Post Your Impressions
I'm having fun with the gameplay itself, but the whole experience feels rather... thin. I'm not really interested in online, and I don't want to take a fake fighter through career mode, so the lack of an Event Mode, Tournament Mode, or Title Defense mode really kills the replay value for me personally.
Aside from modes, the fighters feel a bit samey for my tastes, like ratings and movesets don't matter quite as much as they should.

GameplayDevUFC,
Can you give me a details on the winning stats. I don't understand how I lose. I thought Significant Strike is more important than take down and submission? Basically i feel like i dominate the match. I have more significant strikes and total strikes in EVERY ROUND and total rounds but % of significant strike is not as high as the other guy (but % doesn't matter i don't think...i mean it's all about how much you connect the hit, not how much you missed). He attempts take down more but why is that important than significant? I think he had one knock down...but overall i don't see how the judge make it a unanamous decision. It's ridiculous...i feel like the guy is playing scare the whole time avoiding Bruce LEE. All he want is take down.
Re: EA Sports UFC Available Now, Post Your Impressions
I like the game so far the blood is so realistic. For stamina too work it has to be on the regular clock which is fine. The only problem I have is when I fought Machida with Evans. Machida is a counter striker but he just kept kicking and throwing bombs. I'd just wait for him to flurry than counter. Also I hate the reverse to the mount this rarely happens ever in real life. Other than a couple of things though I like the game. I want to feel like I'm fighting like I'm fighting against Machida or if you fight a wrestler he works to get the fight to the ground. I haven't played too much only 3 fights so I probably need to play some more matches.
The roster is pretty good just wish they had some of average tier fighters so you could see if theres a difference between fighting a GSP or an average fighter.

Gameplay Dev,
Several things really need to be addressed.
1) Sweeps from full guard when on bottom to full mount is REDONKULAS!!! It is not that it happens that is silly, it is far to easy to score AND damn near everyone can do it. This should be for ONLY high level BJJ fighters.
2) Sweeps from side control to side control dominate. Yet again damn near everyone has them and far to easy to succeed.
3) Sweeps from north south, this one I give a slight pass with the animation played but it still is way to easy to succeed with and way to many have this move.
All in all the ground game becomes a back and forth sweep fest. Sure I can defend 6 or 7 attempts and let them burn out their stamina but they can continue to spam transitions where you are locked out of doing anything other than blocking the pass, eventually the ref will come in and stand you up.
As the stamina decreases the window to block pass attempts should be MUCH larger, plus the speed of their attempts should be slowed down by a lot. Currently it is so fast even with zero stamina you can't rise up and drop shots because even with you at full stamina and them at zero. The sweep transition is so fast, the moment you attempt to drop a shot they will succeed with the sweep.
