I'm 1-5 online right now. Started 0-5. Heh. Is the matchmaking supposed to match you up with somebody in your rank, a la -- for me right now -- white belt? I'm guessing that's the case? (Judging by Hiro's post above.)

Outside of the first fight, I had a chance to win the other four I lost but failed to capitalize in the pivotal moments.

Hiro. I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with the brown.

Watching my roommate play on his One kind of makes me want to get it for PS4, but I don't enjoy the career much anymore. I may just play against him sometime.

I understand the game is supposed to be way farther towards the arcade end of the spectrum than sim, but they need to tone down the amount of damage you can suffer.

I don't want a game where you take one clean shot and you're knocked down, but you can take about 10-15 clean shots in this game and just keep on going. They need to find a happy medium. I played a match earlier today where I was in the clinch and kneed my opponent in the head 15 times in a row(while keeping my stamina up) before he went down. Thats just ridiculous.

Also, I don't know about the PS4 version, but the XB1 drops frames constantly. When you play online and add in potential lag, its gets ugly.

Had a couple of fights so far and I'm really enjoying the game so far. Knocked Bisping out with Chael Sonnen, still getting the hang of the controls for the ground though.

              pros:
              graphics
              controls
              takedowns (more realistic then UFC3)
              roster
              presentation

              cons:
              stamina
              AI aggression
              lack of referee involvement
              no UFC pro career
              no herb dean?

This is something I'm really let down by. You can throw lunging blow after blow, have very little stamina drain and the flop side of it is your punches don't have significant damage.

I fought a guy last night that kept throwing significant strikes and while I evaded some, he would slow down but still was able to land. And right when he was gassed and I should have stunned him, he hit me and knocked me out.

Not to mention I saw my stamina draining more because I was side stepping his relentless power punches.

It really bugs me that this team once again went this route for a sports fighting game.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Did a championship match with Rhonda versus another female fighter last night...

Took it to 5 rounds, the other woman was in the red for her head, I was barely in the red...I countered a lot through the match, and evaded a lot...some how my stamina was 3/4 gone by then and the computer had about 90% stamina left, even though it was super aggressive and throwing punch after punch relentlessly?

How is this possible? Why is the computer's stamina not drained by then and why is mine almost gone even though I'm no where near as aggressive and was counter punching most of the match?

Movement and missed punches also take away stamina. The only way to conserve stamina is to stand still every once in a while.

Re: EA Sports UFC Available Now, Post Your Impressions

Well, after two straight nights with fooling around with the game my frustration is pretty high... not so much with game play but with moreso with Game Face.

I certainly still have some complaints with game play. Although, my complaints are nothing that hasn't been said here multiple times before, so I will keep it short. By the way, I'm strictly talking about playing against the A.I. here, I haven't played the first fight against another person yet. My two biggest problems are the A.I. aggression and fighters not really fighting like themselves. I won't go as far as to say that everyone fights exactly the same, but it's certainly a step back for UFC 3. Back to the A.I. aggression I'm rotating between Normal and Hard and I can't really fight the fight that I want to and expect to win... well, unless I end it before it goes to a Decision. If I try to sit back and strike somewhat realistically then the strike output is going to be so vast that it's hard for me to overcome.

Other issues are stamina and reversals but I'm hoping that those have been mentioned enough on here and other sites that maybe it will be enough to move the needle for a patch. I know GPD saw the UFC Live last weekend and I hope that they took some notes. I'm certain that they didn't see too many 8-10 punch combos and they probably didn't see too many crazy sweeps like from full guard to mount, etc. I understand that the game needs to be somewhat causal, but does it really have to be that over the top? With a patch the game play could be really good but I currently give it about a 6 out of 10... but like I said that could really change with a patch.

I haven't really tried any of the other modes yet because I'm really just not a career mode or online player. I've spent most of my time attempting to use Game Face (which seems to be a bust so far). Hopefully, it's down because they're updating it to work/look better, but it could just be down to getting slammed so who knows? I would love to see EA announce what their first DLC pack looks like soon. At least that would save me from creating guys that will be in upcoming packs. However, knowing EA they will slowly trickle these updates out to keep people interested in their game longer.

All and all I would have to say that the game is decent. If they would patch what has been suggested then the game play could be something special. It certainly won't be 10/10 with things like standing submissions and feints not in there but it could be a solid 8. As a whole with the game play issues, Game Face problems, lack of CAF slots and no Event Mode, then it's really hard for me to rate it over a 6... The only thing that could really save the day on that is roster updates, so the ball is in your court EA.

No offense to anyone, but idk why the guys that made EA MMA didn't develop EA UFC. Especially after how the last FN went. I think EA MMA was a better foundation, but EA UFC isn't too bad. It can end up having a lot of longevity with the right patches.

Speaking of gameface can you use the Kinect to take the pics? I know on the 360 it wouldn't let you, and I havnt been able to try because all last night I couldn't connect to EA servers

One thing that has really bugged that i didnt think would after playing the demo is when you rock a fighter and they kinda back away from you theres no way to run down the fighter and continue the punches and kicks, by the time you walk over to him he has recovered
