For me, the first guy I usually try to get is Deandre Yedlin... great pace at right back...he comes up huge for me building the attack out of the back... maybe not the greatest of all defenders long term... but a great young player, especially for a weaker side that lacks in pace. Seattle puts a high asking price on him, but I feel its worth it.

Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode
So what are some of your guys favorite younger guys (younger than 25) to buy and develop in FIFA14 manager mode?

Yes he is a great young player! The reason why he has a high asking price is because is one of the fastest most athletic players in the game. (Just what i'm thinking)So what are some of your guys favorite younger guys (younger than 25) to buy and develop in FIFA14 manager mode?

For me that I have found through Free Agents (because its more fun to guess on players to me) I found a 16 year old I think from Egypt Abdel-Shafy and he was a CF who in 5 years I think became a great goal scorer... Another is GK Sean Johnson from the Chicago Fire I believe.... he turned into an 80 overall GK for me.Cleveland Cavaliers

Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode
Although I didn't get a chance to use him for long, Marseille wide man Florian Thauvin had all the tools to be a dominating player, pace, dribbling skills, scoring ability, and he's just 20 years old(at CM start).
If you're into rough and tumble defenders, St. Etienne's Kurt Zouma is your man. Big, strong, and very aggressive the 18 year old Zouma is quite possibly one of the best defending prospects in the game.Comment

Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode
Personally my favorite player in football is the CM who can pick out every pass yet still has the ability to track back and make tackles, players like Bradley, Fabregas, Montolivo, etc. Zelalem will be that type of player, one of the best CM prospects in FIFA imo.Comment

Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode
Bruma is a young attacker who eventually became a beast for me. Jetro Willems is a left back I believe, but I moved him to the defensive midfield and he has turned into an 89 and completely dominant. Xherdan Shaqiri (not sure on age on him) is a pretty good midfielder, but there wasn't much development there. He started out highly rated. Those guys are from my Spurs Career (in which I've also acquired Neymar, Lucas, De Sciglio, and Paul Pogba (oh add Pogba to my list)). That team is probably the best in the world.
In a Valencia Manager Career I recently started, I acquired Joel Campbell of Costa Rica as a pretty good attacker and I also picked up Raheem Sterling, who is pretty fun to play with as well.Comment

I'd say Raheem Sterling, Xherdan Shaqiri, Jese' Rodriguez, Paul Pogba, and Adnan Januzaj and Zouma is very good later in the career mode as someone previously mentionedComment

Rodrigo Caio (CB/DMF) is a great one. He started off at 72 ovr at 19 years old and is now 86 at 30
Daniel Bachmann (GK) of Stoke went from about 62 at 18 to 88 at 29.Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!

Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode
I'm still in my first season with Spurs in CM but I'm trying to develop Luke Shaw & Adnan Januajz. I was able to buy both players in the 2014 Winter transfer window for relatively cheap.
I'm also hoping to bring in the striker from France Anthony Martial, he's the main striker that I hope to develop. My next target is a teenage keeper who I'd like to progress into an eventual replacement for Lloris.Comment

Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode
I highly suggest it, I've been using Shaw and Januajz but their progressing sucks for me right now, although it seems like every cross Januajz makes ends up in the net, his stamina is crap. Martial on the other hand I brought in at the end of the January Transfer window in year two, and he has been fantastic, and he's progressing very quickly too.I'm still in my first season with Spurs in CM but I'm trying to develop Luke Shaw & Adnan Januajz. Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode
I didn't have such luck for Bruma, unfortunately. He stayed 81 until I sold him. He was playing consistently.
Anyway, to answer the OP's question, my favorite players to develop are my youth academy players. I used my club team's youth academy to scout players for my national team (United States) and I kept and loaned the very best superstar potential players and sold the rest off. All in all I have called up 80 youth players, 49 of which were US players. Now in spring 2021, the United States is a five star squad and my starting XI for the US are all 80 or above (10 of the 11 came through my youth academy) and the three of the best players (Two wingbacks and a center midfielder; 84, 83, and 88, respectively) are starting in my Chelsea XI as well.
So rebuilding a national team with your club budget is fun for me.Comment

I couldn't get Martial to develop for anything. Had him for about 4 years in 2 different careers and he never made any sort of leap. Even when I made him a regular starter.I highly suggest it, I've been using Shaw and Januajz but their progressing sucks for me right now, although it seems like every cross Januajz makes ends up in the net, his stamina is crap. Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode
Any good young strikers that are relatively cheap? I'm trying to add some athleticism off the bench for my Seattle Sounders career. I was looking into Mame Diouf, but he's on the move already in transfers.NBA 2K14 Wingspan Edits (Usable in 2K15)

What budget are you working with?
I like Mayuka from Southampton (he starts out on loan to Sochaux). I've had fun playing with Angelo Henriquez as well (Man Utd on loan to Real Zaragoza).Comment

Re: Favorite Young players to develop in Manager Mode
Using the LA Galaxy, I sold off Landon Donovan halfway through the first season for a whopping $11M to Aston Villa. His value was $6M but he was the leading scorer in MLS at the time. I also shipped off Robbie Keane straight up for Bruno Mendes. Using the cash from the Donovan transfer I bought Marvin Ducksh from Dortmund to give me two very young strikers, both being 19 years old.
Already on the Galaxy was Gyasi Zardes who at age 21 has already developed into one of my star players. He's not very skilled, but his length and athleticism is too much to pass up for an LM.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus
