    You know what, you're right.

Please make sure EA addresses the quitters online. As of now, people can pause the match and quit without getting a loss and their opponent doesnt get the win. This is gamebreaking for online.

I haven't had any problems DLing from Game Face the last two nights. If you're having problems then you should check to make sure that your Origin account from the game matches the one that you created the GF on.

If you're talking about what's the ETA on GF working properly and actually giving us something close to the website, then who knows? I actually spent wayyyy too much time trying to create a Rumble Johnson the last few nights. I've tried using different pics, i've adjusted colors, I've tried getting rid of the shine on hid face using ipiccy, heck I've even tried using MS Paint (lol) to help with eye brows/beards and nothing's even came close really.

Sadly, I'm beginning to think this was intentional to a) push DLC and b) keep the Rocky Balboa's and the like off of Twitch and YouTube.

edit: bigeast, I also just read that the servers were down this morning...

Don't ever judge the game scores by overall stats. You have to look at round by round and see if you win each round. Overall scores is just good to look at if you win the fight.

That problem is being actively investigated, although I'm not involved so I don't know the details.

I can tell you I've noticed takedowns have a HUGE value even if they don't mean anything. If a guy takes you down continually, even if you stand right back up it matters a lot. In many rounds, it matters more than damage done.

just witnessed my first matchup with a 10-8 round. Using McCall, fought to a split decision where the scores were 29-27 McCall, 29-28 Dodson, 29-28 McCall.

It feels like takedowns are scored too heavily. I lost a decision in which I easily won the striking in each round, but the other guy scored a lot of takedowns. When he took me down though he hardly did any damage and I was able to get the fight standing again really quickly.

If they don't capitalize on the position, the takedown shouldn't count for much imo.

But it happens like that in real life though. Don't matter if they do damage or not. Take downs are considered an aggressive move. Don't matter how long they kept you down, just the mere fact they were able to take you down over and over again, they will get credit for it. So that is realistic.

GameplayDev, can you define what a significant strike is?

Is it a hit with a modified punch or specific to when a particular strike lands?

                      Thanks.

                        Agreed.

This is a conversation that happens a lot in real life, guys stealing rounds with takedowns. There is no "perfect" way to program judging into the game since it is not an exact science in real life at all.

                        Edit:

I'm not saying that I think that takedowns should win fights, I'm just saying that I agree it's pretty realistic considering some real life fight decisions we've seen.

Sometimes. Yet, when that happens everyone speaks out against it, including Dana. It's not the way MMA fights should be scored. Just because so many judges don't understand the sport, doesn't mean that their shortcomings should transfer over.

They shouldn't be, but they are sometimes. There are certain situations where Dana's opinion means only as much as yours and mine, this is one of them.

Honestly I'm not sure EA can just invent their own brand of judging criteria. All they can so is go off of what exists, or try their best.

Watch Rory McDonald in his last two fights to see how a strike-first approach should be taken. He throws combos but plans each strike carefully and is instantly ready to block/dodge a counter or sprawl against the takedown right away. Obviously, takedowns are gonna happen, but if someone is just spamming them against you online change your approach.

Unfortunately, while the fights play out more realistically on normal instead of hard, I've gone 9-0 since moving to normal. I will give it a few more fights but I might be stuck with hard modes aggressive AI for the sake of challenge that hard mode brings outside of the AI

I have been having a blast so far playing this game, I do have a couple of dumb questions though - how do you get to see fighters pre fight walk outs? Is this only in career or online mode and not in Fight Now mode? Also how do you post highlight videos to the UFC spotlight highlights?
