Good question, and I haven't seen much of a difference in impact through this based on the vids so far. A lot of it just doesn't look right if anything.

At the designer level, EA designers (and designers at many other companies) typically have tweakable tools for this sort of thing that don't require complex programming, if any. I can't see why they wouldn't just watch a TV broadcast and play with the tool to match what they see. Doesn't seem like you need to bring in broadcast experts for that sort of thing. It kind of seems like they do these things just to have something to promote rather than it having the impact they say it does while promoting the game.

NBA 2K and MLB The Show is extremely repetitive after a while but at least they flow nice. If someone was to be sitting in the other room, they would think it was a real game.

Like I said in a earlier post, the halftime show is dynamic, they will talk about specific plays and how they happened. If you got a big goal line stand or 3rd down stop and then scored a TD on the next drive, it will show the big stop and the TD. Having low expectations is one thing but the information is out there, it's not generic and it's not repetitive.

My guess is he is talking about generic highlights from games around the league (similar to 2k5). Though the one video I saw didn't include any of this.

EA can have great highlights from your game with great commentary but it will have the immersion factor I'm looking for until they include at least scores (would be even better if they included stats and a highlight) from other games around the league.

Yeah I don't think it will have the highlights of games around the league yet, probably something they will add next year, but the good thing about Larry Ridley being the analyst, is that he can come in the studio and record at any time, hopefully that will one day lead to them being able to add lines throughout the season via patch.

You're speaking of these things in absolutes, like you've seen them running in the game with your own two eyes. But you haven't. What EA says will be in the game and how EA says these things will be implemented, we know from their track record, doesn't always match up.

Go re-read the Infinity Engine press release(no two tackles will ever be the same), then I'll show you multiple tackle animations that are exactly the same. Go re-read the Ignite Engine press release where they mentioned human level intelligence, human biometrics, etc. Then show me where any of that stuff was in Madden 25.

Stop taking things EA says at face value when they haven't earned that kind of trust.

I speak in absolutes because there's video of it out already and I know people who played it at E3. It's dynamic not generic and it doesn't just show one play. The examples I gave about a big 3rd down or goal line stand and the following TD are from a person who played the game at E3 and saw/heard exactly that.

Besides the video from VSN is there another halftime video. I just re watched that one and it had 5 highlights. 4 TDs and an INT. It never mentioned if the INT led to the next score nor did it talk about any set up plays...

Was there ever a specific reason given as to why we can't get in game highlight breaks or halftime highlights of other games during CFM? How were they able to do it on the Sega Genesis, when they'd cut to a game with a few seconds left?

Obviously I want the highlights, but at this point would just take Studio Updates like NCAA. Which may still be possible considering we haven't heard anything about CFM yet.

But I agree it weird that they could do the highlight 3 generations ago and we have yet to see them.

I want a good presentation and I would to see it all of the way around. For example, at the end of the game if you are going to have a player and play of the game, I would like to see a player that actually did something during the game and a play that actually turned the tide of the game or to help swing things in one team's direction.

What I mean is: I don't know how many times that I've finished a game and the player of the game is a defensive lineman that had two tackles and amounted to nothing game wise. And, the play of the game was a catch for 10 yards that had absolutely no impact on the game whatsoever.

I would also like to have the on field interview crew to not be the trainers from the sidelines. The guy that interviews the player of the game is a trainer and he even has the trainer belt on, complete with tape! Pretty funny and annoying at the same time.

I honestly find myself getting entirely too worked up over this stuff because even though I accept or at least believe the game play code is FUBAR, making it difficult to advance that area adequately, with regard to presentation and franchise/team management, I don't get why that stuff still hasn't blown the doors off older video games. Years ago I used to talk about this odd mantra around EA Football where they seem to intentionally refuse to copy what's been done well before and try to innovate just to be different, regardless of if their innovation is an improvement or not.

They're trying to figure it out with connected franchise on and offline built together. The strength of CFM is also a big weakness, the offline mode is held back from doing things it could otherwise do if not for trying to make online work.
