Best NFL receiving corps
To include TE's who do you think will have the most productive NFL receiving corps this season?
Denver would be the best bet statistically, but I'm going to go with Dallas as far as pure talent. I think Williams is going to make a leap.8549ers (Crabtree, Boldin, Vernon Davis, Stevie Johnson)0%6Saints (Colston, Graham, Stills, Cooks)0%1Lions (Calvin Johnson, Tate, Ebron, Pettigrew)0%3Bears (Marshall, Jeffries, Morgan, Bennett)0%24Broncos (Demariyus Thomas, Welker, Julian Thomas, Sanders)0%28Cowboys (Bryant, Terrence Williams, Witten, Beasley)0%6Colts (Wayne, Nicks, Hilton, Fleener)0%5Other0%12-Rocky Balboa"Maybe I can't win. Re: Best NFL receiving corps
It's really hard to judge considering the QB plays a huge role in the receivers performance (ex: anyone with Manning).
For me, I'll say Chicago - the size, hands and athleticism of those guys is second to none.Comment

Re: Best NFL receiving corps
I'm voting Chicago for now.
The sheer star power of San Francisco's group is going to make it interesting to watch, and I personally think that Eric Ebron could do wonders for Detroit's offense.
Also, not sure where they'd fall in the group above, but I think the Packers' group - Nelson, Cobb, Boykin, whoever Green Bay lines up at TE to catch the ball from Aaron Rodgers - is at least worth mentioning, even moreso if the Cowboys' group is in the discussion.Comment

Re: Best NFL receiving corps
No running back in the rules (I think it'd make the list more complicated too).
I still picked Chicago. A case can be made for most of these though. I wouldn't include:
Indy (I love Wayne but he's older and can't ignore injuries... can't ignore Nicks injuries either)
Saints (Brees and the offense gives them stats but Graham is really the only one. Colston is Wayne)
Both are quality choices, but I think they're a notch down from the others, and on par with a few other teams.
I thought long and hard about the 9ers. But Boldin and Johnson may be more name now than production (still very productive but we're talking about best core in the league).
I'd definitely include GB's group here, as well as Washington. DJax, Garcon, Roberts and Reed can go toe to toe with any of those groups (on a stat sheet).Comment

Re: Best NFL receiving corps
That's my bad I didn't even see the poll I just rattled off their best targets. I will stand with the Bears. Marshall & Alshon are just so talented and we have one in the prime and one not even there yet. Bennett is a pretty underrated option as well and he's a very good athlete. No running back in the rules (I think it'd make the list more complicated too).

49ers. Too bad we won't run plays with more than 1 option.

Those claiming the 49ers, what am I missing here?
Old Anquan Boldin, old Stevie Johnson, Vernan Davis and Michael Crabtree?
I have to go with Denver. Oddly enough, I don't think we give the season they had last year enough credit.Last edited by dsallupinyaarea; 06-24-2014, 08:26 PM.NFL - Vikings

Re: Best NFL receiving corps
Chicago I suppose although what they lack in 3rd and 4th options they make up for in the 1st 2.
I'm drawing a blank on the complete rosters, but Denver and New Orleans would also be in the running. Obviously we know Denver's weapons, Saints added a potential x-factor in Cooks along with possible growth of Stills. I really like Cobb/Jordy in GB too but don't know who else they got.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Best NFL receiving corps
If Stevie Johnson is old, why isn't Davis old? Crabtree will be 27 this year, which is the same age as Johnson currently. So, isn't Crabtree going to be old by mid season?
Who gives a **** about age? If they produce, that's all that matters.--

Re: Best NFL receiving corps
Fair enough on the age thing.
Produce? The whole 49ers passing offense had 21 TDs and 3200 yards last year.Last edited by dsallupinyaarea; 06-24-2014, 08:35 PM.NFL - Vikings

Re: Best NFL receiving corps
I never said they are going to produce but we haven't seen them this season. Stevie can stretch the field whenever he's not blaming God for his drops.
I sure as hell didn't vote for them because I don't think they're the best but I thought the age thing was a bad example.--
