Nike sold it's stake in Bauer way back in 2008.

I think it looks like Kessler a lot. As others have said though- playing like it's real life counterpart is more important than an exact cyber model.

I get the feeling with the extra amount of ram they have to work with this time out, that actually might be in the cards. It might not happen year one, but I would imagine they won't be as constrained memory limitations wise this time out.

I'm thinking that once they get to NHL16, they'll stop support of the 360 and PS3, so they can just go full on Next-Gen. Seems with this one they're kind of straddling the fence in terms of development.

That's a good point, it's a necessary evil however given the install base on both the 360 & PS3 is still much larger than the PS4 and Xbone at this point. We're still really early in this so called "Next Gen" For me personally I just wish they would be honest and come out and say, "hey our Next Gen systems are really just mid grade pc's using a last gen ATI 7000 series card." But then again that wouldn't sell many systems of either of the two.

I think it looks like Kesler but it's not perfect. Sad to see him go, but he lost the locker room in Vancouver and got his C taken away, so I'm also a little glad he's gone too.

I'm not a Canucks fan. However you have to take Tortarella taking away Keslers alternate captaincy away with a grain of salt. Tortarella is a clown. The lockeroom is all Sedin. I'm guessing the combo of Torts, and Sedin seemingly looking like nothing resembling what most view a strong NHL captain to be are the main reason the lockeroom was lost, and any off ice turmoil. Kesler seems like a pretty standup guy, and is probably ecstatic to be wearing another teams sweater.

Haha, probably not the best marketing strategy. I just wish PC Gamers could get a shot at games like NHL and Madden.
I have FIFA14 on here, and i was wanting a scratch for my World Cup itch, luckily, some nice modders have assembled the entire rosters for all of the national teams, set up the group stages, and even modded all of the jerseys.

That doesn't even touch on what they do for the normal game, with improved rosters, player faces and jerseys, salary corrections. It would be nice if NHL could get the same treatment on PC, but i know it'll never happen.

I wouldn't go that far. The only faces I've liked thus far are Kesler, Kessel and Ovechkin. Face scans aren't my top priority though. I just want the players to play like their real-life counterparts and I want the game to play smoothly (judging by previews I won't be disappointed).

Same here. As it is now, every single player is pretty much identical with speed being the ONLY real differance.

Even when I ran my GM mode, my best line was my 3rd.... All rated under 76... My 1st line were 89...91....90 and they played like scrubs.

That's wishful thinking. I seriously doubt they stop making NHL available for PS3 that soon.

Madden 12 was released on PS2! I know hockey isn't as popular but if EA thinks it can make a buck, it will.

Gillis should have been fired over letting V go, but whatever. Glad we have Benning now along with Linden, and Willie. I really like the make up of the staff right now.

I never thought Torts would fit in with a somewhat soft team to begin with. Torts is abrasive, I doubt the Sedins took very kindly to that, it wasn't shocking that he lost the room early on and never got it back. I like Torts myself, guy isn't afraid to speak out even if it's not the politically correct way to go about it.

Yep, he wasn't what the Canucks needed at all. I think Willie Desjardins will do any awesome job with the team. They're looking at a 3-5 year rebuild before they're competitive again.

Torts did expose a lot of flaws with the Canucks, and while I didn't like him too much by the time he left, I certainly didn't hate the guy. He spoke a lot of truth at the end. He also facilitated the firing of Gillis which I'm thrilled about. No more stupid trades, and stupid No Trade Clauses, and the new staff seems to have a clear defined plan, instead of just shooting from the cuff.

I remembered who Kesler was rumored to have slept with and it was Corey Schnieder's wife, which is why many believe they moved him instead of Luongo in last years draft when all signs pointed to Luongo leaving. Then Gillis and Torts pissed off Luongo and traded him too. So instead of having an aging super-star goalie and a young super-star goalie we now have neither. I like Eddie Lack, but we don't know what we have with him, and I'd prefer to have a veteran to split minutes with him as I'm not sold on Markstrom at all.

Kesler needed to be gone simply because he lost the locker-room through his actions and cost the Canucks their 2 best goalies.
