I do NOT want my full priced videogames Hulu-ized! No no no. No way. If they knock the price down to $20, maybe. I won't stand for actual commercials in my $60 games!
There is nothing wrong with simulating commercial breaks, like The Show.Comment

There's a reason he's not as objective, he knows what's coming. The tech I'm talking about for organic falls isn't something that's coming, it's already in place. They are going to use it to implement real gang tackling in the future.Comment

You got to figure too all the game changers websites and YouTube pages get more hits because they have exclusive footage. That probably leads to some financial benefits.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 15 Gameplay Video - Seahawks vs. 49ers (SimFBallCritic)
That's not the point, as much as Sim "knows", he doesn't know if these things will come into fruition.... he might, at best, seen a demo for something; that, by no means implies that something will for sure be implemented in next editions of the game.
And Sim, or any gamechanger, does fall under the "someone from someone from someone" category as I'm pretty sure they haven't been shown anything concrete yet for M16. And even if they had been shown something, they wouldn't have confirmed anything publicly on twitter to you or to anyone.
Point is:
They say....
"trust me, the things we want are coming in the future...."
And you read...
"new animation system, true step for 22 players, more in depth CFM are all coming for sure to M16"
Just ask lbzrule about what was supposed to be coming. He can tell you about what he saw back in 2009. Yeah... How'd that turn out? I'll believe it when I see it. Also, what's coming out years from now shouldn't be a concern. We should be able to enjoy this year's game.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 15 Gameplay Video - Seahawks vs. 49ers (SimFBallCritic)
I feel you JP and I like the stuff I hear from Sim, as well as others about the future of Madden too BUT I think the point the poster is making is that nobody has any idea how everything will shake out. For example, Sim talked about the dline moves for M15 last year and they are in. However, right now we have no idea how it will work, especially with regard to CPU controlled players and you mentioned his prediction about RTP, another element that still has yet to be ironed out.My source is someone who went to EA, not someone from someone from someone. Sim has been spot on about stuff like this, remember before M13 he gave the hint about physics in the steelers bengals kick return video. He also told us last year about how they were working on pass rush for M15
What anyone says about Madden and how it all plays out are often two entirely different things.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 15 Gameplay Video - Seahawks vs. 49ers (SimFBallCritic)
Different era, different leadership. Why would Sim care about free trips and a free game, he's there because he has a direct line to the devs. He talked with Cam 1 on 1 at E3, I bet not many GC's have been able to do that over the years. This team is more accessible and honest, the proof is in the pudding, but so far the only reason to doubt this team is because of two letters, there's no real reason to think they can't accomplish what they're trying to do besides that.Just ask lbzrule about what was supposed to be coming. Do you honestly think all the game changers are doing this just so they can improve madden without any additional benefits to them.Different era, different leadership. In some ways maybe, but Sim has direct communication with Rex and Cam. Cam is higher up than Phil was, Cam is also much more sim focused than Phil. If Ian had a Cam or Rex on the team with him, we'd be way beyond where we are today.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 15 Gameplay Video - Seahawks vs. 49ers (SimFBallCritic)
Wait, why is it phase 1? Shouldn't this be phase 2 if it's going to co-exist with the "three year plan" Are you saying we have to wait three full years before realistic tackling? Or am I missing something?Comment

No, but I do think that is the primary motivation for Sim & Smitty.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 15 Gameplay Video - Seahawks vs. 49ers (SimFBallCritic)
road,
You beat me to it.
WOW... you want to talk about access, it's not even close. Both Ian and Phil were regular posters here. Forget talking about someone with direct access to someone else, Ian used to post WIP videos of stuff he was working on and ask for feedback. He used to drop posts in the middle of the night here (and another site) breaking down the formulas and tech they were using to improve turn rates and acceleration so that we'd have a better picture of what they were up against. Last time I looked, Ian still has blog posts in his arena from that era where he'd give behind the scenes looks at how the game was being build and how he was trying to change the foundation. They even hung around to take the bullets when things didn't come out as
expected.
@jp: I'll never take a man to task for being optimisit, but when you make posts like this saying "this team is more accessible" when it's clearly not the case, it really makes it seem like you have the blinders on."A man can only be beaten in two ways: if he gives up, or if he dies."Comment
