WWE 2K15 Cover Athlete is John Cena - Announcement Video Included

Surprisingly this is his first solo cover after 10 years on top in WWE. He shared a bunch of them. It doesn't bother me he is on the cover he is the biggest full time star they have so he should be on the cover.

Not at all surprised by this cover. John Cena is WWE's poster boy for just about everything. It seems fitting that he be the cover athlete for their video game as well.

Anyways, the cover is irrelevant. I couldn't be more excited for this game. 2K Sports and Visual Concepts have huge plans for WWE 2K15, especially on the next-gen consoles. The same technology currently being used to develop this years NBA 2K15 is also being used for WWE 2K15.

For those who know how visually stunning next-gen NBA 2K14 is, this is fantastic news. Wrestling fans, you're in for an absolute treat.

Technically that was at a time when there were multiple people on the cover, not just one. WWE moved to being similar to Madden, and other sports games by naming it WWE 12, WWE 13, etc. Now it seems they are doing the traditional 1 cover athlete like so many others.

2006: Shared with Batista
2007: Triple H is in the main guy while Cena is in the red background.
2008: Undertaker main guy, Cena and Lashley in the background.
2010: Cena the main guy, but Edge, Mysterio, Orton, Taker in background
2011: Cena, Show and Miz.

To be fair, the question wasn't "How many solo covers has John Cena had", it was "how many covers has he been on". So technically, he was ON all those covers lol.

Definitely a hideous logo. I expected something big and bold, this almost feels like a logo out of the 90's Attitude Era.

Anyway, I am a little underwhelmed by the cover as well. I expected Cena as he is the company posterboy, but the image is really lacking. I guess I expected something dynamic or at least with a little more styling to the photo itself. Everything 2K has put out in terms of visuals has a lot of grunge, noise and HDR-type effects, where as the Cena cover looks very natural - almost like a Dove commercial. It definitely does not fit with the visual stylings of the WWE & 2K's sports lines.

I like it. Was getting tired of the "cover athlete slowly melting away" look. Also this makes me wonder what Durant's cover will look like.

And yeah that logo sucks.
