What is up with this game??

It seems players like Suarez/Santi Cazorla are absolutely useless. Most of my goals come from corners or me pressing the defense to turn over in front of goal. Why cant i out sprint a 55 sprint with an 85 sprint player?

Playing defense is an absolute nightmare in this game.

Constantly switching from player to player trying to get them into position, because you get absolutely no ai assistance at all. They literally stand and watch the ball roll past there feet while i switch 3-4 times (still not selecting the player closest to the ball) and once i do its too late.

Also i believe all skills should be set like how NBA2k does it. Theres absolutely no player individuality what so ever apart from height difference. I seriously find it hard to believe they still cant get it right.

I played madden for 11 years straight and gave up in 2011 due to constant crap games since 2006.

Had played NBA live since 98 and gave up in 07 when i discovered 2k6.

Now its FIFA's turn.


Seems to be a bit of an EA SPORTS trend here??

I've recently just purchased this game due to world cup fever. I'm not a big soccer fan, in fact I'll admit I've never watched a full match until the world cup started, but I will say I've fallen in love with the sport.

While I do agree with you about your teammates AI on the defensive side of the ball, I've found that this is one of the only games where ratings DO matter on the pitch. You can really tell when one team is outclassed, or when a world class player or two are on the pitch. It's one of the things FIFA does right in my opinion

I had this problem at first too, but sounds like you just need to get used to the game. Slow players would easily catch up to my player with a speedster trait, until I began using the first touch stick and began using the players body to push them away. The main complaint from FIFA13, was that all you needed was a fast player and you were undefeated. They made it more difficult this year, to where you have to use everything (skills, shielding, 1st touch, wall passes etc) to beat your opponent.

If you're struggling to get used to it lower the difficulty and then bring it back up once you get it. I played Legendary on FIFA 13, and had to go all the way down to Professional in FIFA 14 because I struggled getting used to it. I'm using World Class now and getting realistic results.

Also, sliders can make a HUGE difference in EA's sports games. To the OP: I, too, am a long time Madden player and I can tell you that the difference in this years Madden between playing out of the box vs using a good slider set is like playing 2 completely different games made by 2 different companies. In Madden, sliders make ALL the difference and I've read similar comments about FIFA.

We all face these issues but sometimes I feel like people make a bigger deal out of it than it needs to be. Yes, FIFA could be way better, but it's still a great game as it is. If someone really feels that they want to stop playing the franchise, just stop instead of posting about it.
