Help pick my new NCAA 14 dynasty

So I had fun with Kentucky earlier this year, but as my sig indicates that has been retired and I'll be starting a new one now that I have 2014 rosters and a better idea of how to go about doing this. This will be a straight up dynasty, not much off the field, personal stuff. It will be run alongside the Mass State dynasty for now, but that might change if I try a Madden dynasty in the fall.

So I'll think it over while I'm on vacation, get some 2014 rosters and try adding in the 4 team playoff thing, and get it started around mid-August.

I've had a somewhat low amount of viewers and (at least on the surface) followers for both my previous dynasties. So I want to be interactive and have some folks here weigh in with their opinion. A poll is included above.

I'd appreciate reasoning with your choices (don't say because they are my favorite school).

Indiana would be very interesting. But of the teams in the poll, I'd choose UMASS. They are a young program, not a lot of talent and a decent conference. Plus if you run it alongside a Madden franchise it could be cool to see a team like the Patriots get better with homegrown talent.

Indiana actually does sound intriguing. They were one of my final 4 for a dynasty before the game came out (eventually chose Kansas), but never really gave them a thought. I'll look into their roster later on...


As for the Madden thing, I've been pondering doing one for months now. I want to do a team like the Vikings, Jags, etc., but I can't bring myself to doing either of them because every time I think of the Super Bowl, I think of the 10 years it's been since NE won one...
Another reason I'm waiting is because I'm using M25 with '14 rosters, just need to get some draft classes in.

I suppose I'll throw my two cents in. Doing some research for my own dynasty (before I elected to the Chicago route), I was fascinated by Wake Forest. OK uniforms, nice stadium but the history is daunting. They're one of the worst programs in NCAA history by win percentage, in a tough conference that will become more difficult when you add Louisville after the first season.

Indiana is in the same ballpark as far as historically bad, but with better uniforms.

If you want mid-major, go UNLV. Nice uniforms since they upgraded and Vegas could give you some neat storylines should you choose to be creative.

The thing with choosing Wake is that I'm using them in an online dynasty and I've had no troubles winning with them 2 years in.


UNLV is an interesting option, but they went bowling
last year, that already decreases my interest. (Yes, I am aware they aren't eligible for a bowl this year, but still).
And as I mentioned in the OP, I don't think I want this to be a storyline dynasty.

Of teams not on the list I'd nominate Colorado. The Buffs have had some great teams and even won a NC, but have not had a winning season since '04 and they're one of the worst teams in the Pac-12. It's a sad state of affairs when CSU wins a bowl game while CU has a losing season. And Folsom Stadium with the Flatirons in the background is an awesome venue.

I had a blast on a 4 year run with ASU.

Won the division year 3, kinda fell apart year 4. Only had a good scrambling QB but no support.

I just love the PAC 12 though.
