Since this is presentation related, I talked to Matt bertz of game informer on Twitter and he said Brian Murray told him players will look at the jumbotron to see how close a player is behind them in a breakaway run.
I knew I read about them looking at the jumbotron but wasn't exactly sure where, then today i finally found this article.
