As I type this there are 6 ppl in this forum. Ive only had a handfull of fights the last 3 weeks. Find the ground game somewhat repetitive and just a transition race. That and similar move sets has it feeling stale already. Curious what others think.....

Re: Are People Losing Interest Already?
There arent a ton of MMA fans at OS in general either. Its pretty much the same 10 guys talking about UFC fights (including myself). Add to the fact that the game isnt great...this was expected. -
Re: Are People Losing Interest Already?
This happens with every UFC game at OS. With UFC 3 after the first month, there was a huge dropoff from the number of people who played the game at release. Same thing is happening here.

Re: Are People Losing Interest Already?
I've been playing this game strictly online since it dropped. I've had near 400 fights online.
I'm about to play right now, so I definitely haven't lost interest, and i haven't even played career mode yet.NFL : Atlanta Falcons
MLB : Toronto Blue Jays

Re: Are People Losing Interest Already?
The key I think is that your team makes some significant changes before Madden drops in August. Hardcore MMA fans like me have no plans to trade in the game but casual fans (there are plenty here at OS) will probably look to trade in the game around August (when Madden drops) or Sept/Oct (when Fifa/NHL/NBA drop) if there isnt a reason to keep the game.
Another reason UFC 3 dropped off was because THQ kept promising a patch and it never came.Comment

If its just a roster update....no. If its a full patch and it patches the things people are complaining about here (stamina/spamming issues), I think it will pick back up.

Regardless, I hope that we release some info soon so I can come back and discuss the details. Until then we'll both just have to wait.Comment

Re: Are People Losing Interest Already?
I suppose thats the catch 22 though aholbert. Many casuals wont want stamina adjusted. Even if that was corrected for me personally its still a disappointment. EA had to know a good bulk of their customer base would be ufc 3 players. So not including standing subs sprawls and leg kick tko's baffles me. I would have assumed they would have done some research on ufc 3. So what the general consensus was on positive/negative gameplay aspects. I essentially bought a ps4 for this game and The Show.Comment

Re: Are People Losing Interest Already?
If at some point along the way a problem is found that forces something to be removed, and I've promised some feature to people in a public forum, it makes the company look bad and it's very bad for me.
Bottom line is, although I know what work we did and what's being tested, there's still a chance (although very unlikely) that something could be found and the feature could be pulled.
Since I don't have the power to control that, I can't be the one making the announcement.
Once the patch is through testing, the company will announce in the way they best see fit, and I'll be able to give more details, answer questions, etc.
I'd love to talk about it now because I'm excited about it, but we have to wait.Comment

Re: Are People Losing Interest Already?
On the game play front, every fight pretty much feels the same. Whether it's BW or HW there's really not that much difference. Every CPU fighter comes out swinging and there's just not much strategy involved. Just dodge, parry, land some counters, repeat. I find that in most of my matches I win by finishing the CPU, but if the fight goes to a Decision then most of the time the CPU beats me because their output is so much more than mine. I can give detailed stats about about how I win versus how the cpu wins, etc. but I don't won't to bore you guys with that kind of stuff, so I won't post it unless someone wants to see it.
Modes wise, well we knew from the beginning the game wasn't very deep. Career mode is a one and done type of mode for most people and outside of going online there's nothing else to do really. I keep myself busy with my own UFC Universe, but most people don't want to go through the trouble of keeping up with spreadsheets and stuff to make it worth their while. Basically, you can only do the same thing for so many times before you get tired of it, you know?
Hopefully, a game play patch comes soon. I'd love to see stamina and the ground game addressed. It would also be nice to see fighters fight more like themselves. Just adding those things should strategically make the game more interesting. I would like to see more advanced game play like standing subs, feints, sprawls, etc. but I just don't think that's something they can just patch in. Hopefully, they're in the next game though.
I will say that I'm really looking forward to the new fighters. Hopefully, there's enough interest for them to pump out new fighters and updates every few weeks. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
Alabama Crimson Tide
Green Bay Packers

Re: Are People Losing Interest Already?
Then I severely hope the following things are patched. Bigger temp stamina penalties for whiffed mod strikes. I can see minimal loss for missed feeler jabs, but if you whiff a power overhand, it should cost stamina. Same for whiffed takedowns. And bigger permenant stamina penalties oveall
Also on whiffed strikes, there should be a recovery window before they can pull their hands back up and getting countered after whiffing, is something you should never want to happen to you.
Sprawled takedowns, actually going to sprawl. From sprawl top, have an undenable standup, I believe it already is, also delay recovery of stamina and damage on a sprawled takedown. Slow down certain animations when gassed, namely transitions, and side kicks. A very cheap tactic being used while gassed is to spam a side kick to the body while gassed because it keeps that tired chin out of reach.
I wouldn't be against a full on faceplant for trying flying knees, cartwheel kicks and spinning wheel kicks while gassed either.
Also tskedown attempts on overextending fighters and fighters throwing kicks, need to be a lot hard or impossible to sprawl. It's way too easy to keep a fight standing if you have good reactions, even if you have overextended yourself.Last edited by ManiacMatt1782; 07-14-2014, 05:49 PM.Comment
