Here's my biggest issue and please let me know if I'm completely off for saying this but if anyone can remember back in the Sega days when we played with Barry Sanders who is arguably one of the greatest position players in NFL history we totally believed that he was worth a 95 rating. This goes the same for Jerry Rice and other superstar players of that time.

Does it not seem like we are boosting ratings at an astronomical rate. Marshawn Lynch is 95? You can't be serious. Russel Wilson at 93 is better then Vick in Atlanta in 2006? Can we all sit here and say that Clowney at 83 overall is better as a rookie then Posluszny, Dansby, Hawk, and Dameco Ryans in Madden 25?

If Manziel was in that Top 10 rookie class I was going to throw up. At least they got that right.

I agree with that. That is one of the points of FBG Ratings - to get rid of that over-inflation. We don't give out 99 OVR ratings unless a player is truly worthy of it. Right now, not one player is rated 99. However, we must also work with in the box that is Madden's ratings system and OVR rating calculation.

I would actually prefer to rate players based on an equal-interval approach, this way there are only about 6 players rated 90+, 30 about 80+ and about 400 that are 70+. This is actually the most realistic way to mimic the data source.

I miss having the OVR broken down into the list of attributes that comprise it, but I'd imagine that's on tap for the future...

You can determine what attributes affect the OVR in your game by simply raising/lowering each until the OVR goes up/down.

You're exactly right. This ratings thing is way off. A majority of NFL players are on an even playing field. The only sport I seeing have drastic ratings differences is 2K. Lebron is far better then Matt Barnes. For them to even have 5 RB's in the 90's is a joke. Unbearable laughter!

How well does these ratings affect the game of madden realistically gameplay wise and where can I get them and how often are they updated? I'll be getting madden 15 next gen I skipped madden 25

The effects on gameplay are often cited in this topic. If you have questions regarding specifics, both Charter04 and CM Hooe have played them out in the game...to very good reviews thus far. Check the rosters section of the OS forums for more info. The site is updated daily.

The data that drives the site illustrates that there are very few players actually worthy of a rating over 90. As in, less than 10 currently. What is even more important, though, is the distribution of the attributes. Apparently the difference, for instance, between a QB with great THP and an average one, is pretty wide, if the intervals between each point are the same in distance (linear regression). Using the true-mean method, where the average of the population is set to a point considered to be average (non-linear/polynomial) we find that there are 6 RBs rated 90+, but none over 93 at this point, which varies quite a bit from all of the 95+ rated RBs according to EA sports.

That is dependent on 2 things.

1. How long it takes to crack the OVR formulas.

2. How quickly the community puts rosters together.

I can't understand why there is so much negative passion about this. You can't compare what Dan does to EA anyway. He does it for free. LOL They charge us $60. So really if you don't like it so much why spend so much time commenting on something that won't change. You either like it or don't. Make your own site and rate guys how you want to.

we'll im having some weird results with these rosters.... I d/led the roster and I edited the browns to the fbg ratings and have use the browns against the teams cm hooe edited so far the nfc east.


so far my results are this 1st game I played I picked Browns vs Cowboys


42-17 browns win huge.... there was a total of 5 turnovers in game romo had 3 picks Manziel had 2 int's also a lot of injuries.


the problem was once the cowboys got turnovers they couldn't do nothing with them both int's by manziel resulted in 0 points.


meanwhile the 3 picks romo threw resulted in 21 points.


2nd game was Browns vs Redskins


now this game played a lot different it was a low scoring game infact at halftime it was only 10-7.


second half started I drive down field go up 17-7 and im thinking oh great another huge win.... the redskins took the ko after my td and Jackson returned it 90+ yards for a td 17-14.... manziel threw a crucial int but again redskins couldn't get nothing going resulting in only a fg 17-17 game on line im driving and tate gets tattooed and fumbles redskins get ball kick game winning fg... 20-17.


just played the 3rd game browns vs eagles


I score first on a 3 and out by eagles next drive for me results in a td 7-0 next drive for eagles foles get laided out by rubin, taylor goes out injuried wouldn't return in comes sanchez and he cant do nothing in fact he gets sacked and its a fumble browns recover return it to eagles 15... we score again 14-0 end of 1st.


finally the eagles come alive and finally reach the endzone 14-7... I would add a fg with 12 secs before half 17-7.


2nd half only score of the 3rd is a 1 yard manziel td run 24-7.... and that's the 3rd.


4th quarter


and again the eagles offense can't do nothing in fact sanchez is picked 6 twice in back to back drives making it 38-7.... finally the eagles get a fg before end of game 38-10 the final.


again a lot of turnovers 3 for eagles 2 ints 1 fumble, 2 ints for manziel.


I like how the game plays with these ratings I mean its hard to get yards running atleast for me I think I only had 1 100 yard game and that was in the game I lost to the redskins .


this last game I had 12 carries 48 yards avg 4.0 ypc and the cmp ratings for the qbs haven't been that high neither.


im just curious as to what kind of game im gonna have against the giants so far 2 huge blows outs 1 close game.


im playing on all pro with default settings except the only thing I lowered was int slider for cmp to 13 but even that low they still have gotten 5 ints in 3 games... 8 minute quarters.

That's because the pass coverage slider is the int slider. Sliders were really messed up and some even missable on next gen madden 25. Default all pro won't be difficult enough if your playing user v CPU no matter what rosters you use IMO

You could but, I don't adjust that much for these rosters. I'll post some slider adjustments for these rosters when I get the chance. Also CMhooe has some on this thread or the PS4 FBG rating roster thread
