From what I understand they didn't just hand Emrick and Olczyk a script. They would watch a scenario, and then record free form commentary for it 10 times or whatever. If this is actually the case in how they did it this time out, it should not only sound more realistically natural, but not sound like it's being read off a script sitting in front of them. Doc's done game commentary before, and it didn't sound all that great, but I'm thinking with how they're pushing presentation this year as a major thing, it should at least be as good as Thorne & Clement were if not better.
I really liked Thorne and Clement but there's only so many ab libs along the lines of washing up on a sandy shore even I could take before it got old 5 years in.
It'll be interesting to see what the 3rd man between the glass element brings to EA's game.
