Re: The Future of Sports Game Release Calendars

Regarding annual releases, money is obviously why they'll always happen.

If you were a video game company(or really just any company in the world) which would you rather have:

Every other year release:
2015 game:1.15M sales
No 2016 game
2017 game:1.20M sales
No 2018 game

Every year release:
2015 game:600k sales
2016 game:550k sales
2017 game:650k sales
2018 game:600k sales

The answer.....obviously every year release, more money comes out of it.

Though if there was a way they could release some huge DLC add on that'd change a game(for example,if you buy NBA 2K15, in 2016 2K releases some big DLC that is filled with updated commentary/stats/rosters(player portraits too)/coaching changes/franchise mode which begins in 2016-2017 with new schedule/completely fixes up all the bugs and glitches in the game among other things, and charged maybe $20 for it, I'm sure people would buy it.
