Re: EA Access for Xbox One: Play EA Games Up to Five Days Before the Release Date

This is good for me. I have been away from football games for quite a few years but have the itch to play again. I don't have a new generation system yet because I have been playing games on PC. This will allow impressions and videos to be posted so I can see if this is worth buying a PS4 for.

On a slightly related topic: When I was hanging around here in the past there was always some dude who would put together a thread with all the pre-release Madden videos on it. Is he still around? Where are all the videos? Seems like there used to be tons after E3, yet I don't see any.

That's disappointing games that are for both consoles shouldn't have exclusive things they should be available for everyone.

So $29 gets me Fifa 14 and Battlefield 4... haven't played either all that much (Madden 25 and Peggle also available at launch).

Like someone else posted, likely buying the full version of Madden on PS4, since that's where my online franchise players are at, but I'm sold.

Quite the Xbox One perk if it remains exclusive, as big as EA is and the library of games they could potentially provide. Could basically become a second 'Games with Gold' program.

Depending on how this program defines a "month" (by the calendar, or by a rolling 30-day period), you might be able to pay $4.99 on the eve of Madden's Access release, then also get to try out NHL and FIFA before your "month" runs out.

Why would there be a 6 month or 12 month commitment when they are offering a one year subscription for $30?

If you bought month to month for 6 months, you've paid for a year's subscription. Your best value is to buy for the year and be done, unless you only play one or two games then you buy for the month you want.

Once again sony users get screwed. I mean content is one thing, but letting one consol play the full game five days early and not the other???? I know I'm gonna sound like a five year old here, but it seems a little unfair if you ask me.

It sucks for those who only own a PS4. It's like throwing money away if you ask me. People with PS4's would buy this, why cut yourself off from that income source.

Xbox/Microsoft coughing up a lot of money for this exclusive feature.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Okay, but that still has nothing to do with the topic. This is just an EA/Microsoft deal.

                          ---

As a PS4 owner, I say to this. Sounds like a nice deal, but I didn't get the Season Ticket last-gen and I probably wouldn't get this if given the opportunity, just because my gaming time has gone down lately and I wouldn't have the chance to take full advantage.

Doubt they'll break even, depending on how much they had to give up. But not sure how many people will go for this since it seems only sports titles are in the mix first. Now if battlefield was one of the early access titles then that would be a different story. This doesn't sound like a smart move IMO.
