This is where we need to differentiate skillset at position.

3-4 DE and 3-4 OLB deserve their own category ranking.

I would not go as far as saying Nickel CB and Slot Recivers should be in separate rankings but the aforementioned positions should be ranked in a separate pile.

Vontaze Burfict deserves a 95+ OVR in his own right.

I would rate Mathis higher too were it not for him testing positive to PED's

He played lights out last year. That positive test taints it a little.

Guys like Jamie Collins, Deandre Levy, Clay Matthews, Orakpo, Hightower, etc shouldn't be far behind him though

Collins has a ton of upside but he really only played the last part of the year. I can't wait to see what he does this year. He's a three down player.

He needs to build off last year this season before he is even considered in the top 10.

I agree. Like Julio Jones, who when healthy, is definitely a top 5 wr in the NFL. Some guys they went off of reputation (Andre Johnson) and other guys they went of last years stats/success (Russell Wilson). There is no consistency but overall I haven't been too upset with what I've seen.

The ratings are subjective even though Donny says there based off stats. He rates Brady lower due to a down year statistically, but Mayo had a down year due to injury and he stays in the top 5.

It also seems some guys are being penalized for suspensions and others aren't.

Really happy to see Lavonte get some love. That guy was beast last year and snubbed from the Pro Bowl, yet still made All-Pro.

Ok, sorry, homer-rant off. I'd agree with the sentiments expressed thus far as well. This list look OK to me as well.

Clay Mathews when healthy is just as disruptive as Von Miller(watch week 1 vs 49ers) and he's below a 95? Idk why I'm upset, just really want to play some 49er bandwagon noobs and crush em with Clay and J Pepp. Pack D is back.

I can't wait to find out, I don't think he would be much lower then 93 overall though. But even if he is lower then 90, he is still a great LB, will be interesting to see where he stacks up with the other guys in the Niners LB core. It wouldn't surprise me to have a 90 overall to round out the starting group. But I'm more interested in how Eric Reid's ratings will look, so I'll be waiting for Safeties or the NFC West ratings.
