I voted finally for the second option, but let me clear: watching the NFL makes me want to do something NFL related. It just so happens that Madden is the only NFL game. If it weren't, I could want to play any NFL game after watching the NFL.
Also obviously going outside and playing football, etc.
This is harsh but man it gets to the heart of the matter. Madden is just a brand; it's just a game. What we crave is the National Football League.
