Just play a game and see for yourself. I understand people questioning certain things but, actually trying a game with ratings allows you to see for yourself instead of relying on hypotheticals.

One thing I've noticed as a slider maker is how many people I run into who ask me a lot of questions about a slider set before trying. It's not going to break your game to try things. Lol I have a roster that has several teams rated with FBG ratings. CM hooe has a thread too. Just give them a try in a few games and see if you think it makes a difference.

Im interested in playing with new ratings, i guess I was asking if changing things around does exactly what you are expecting. Of course it's still Madden. My point is that some things are better to just try.

Also if I looked at ratings all day my wife and three kids wouldn't be too happy.

Nah man its just smug. Its like saying I hear your question, wont address it, but instead ill tell you to just do it my way and tell me how it was. I can pick that stuff up, yeah sensitive. But I sold my ps3 a few weeks ago so luckily im able to discuss the game with some like minded people.

There was no smug intent. Maybe Dan knows more about how to answer your question.

The reason I suggested to play it and test it is because figuring out exactly how madden uses ratings in game is a very complicated thing to figure out. I've tested and tested. I've heard many theories and I'm still not sure. When playing games though it's pretty easy to see that these ratings make games play more realistic. IMO

MM refers to MaddenMania, an old Madden NFL news / fan site / forum which merged with Operation Sports years ago.

Is there a specific slider set that is meant to be coupled with this roster? I browsed through a few of the teams and players and I'll be honest I don't entirely get some of the ratings. Just weird seeing some of the best in their position according to metrics and performance last year having such low attribute ratings in comparison to some of their peers.

Well, perhaps you are just used to seeing too many players with ratings that have been over-inflated and based on seemingly no data and consistency. These are very different from stock EA rosters. They play differently, too. I suggest trying them out first. I once thought that NFL 2K5 had "weird" low ratings too, but those turned out to be pretty darn good.

I didn't think that was smug at all. In fact, I think Charter said exactly what I would say. Try the rosters out for yourself and let us know what you think. That is the point of the thread. Trial and discussion.

Just came here to add my 2 cents to your ratings. Clearly you guys don't favor The Giants. Seriously rated Eli Manning worst than (just to name a few) Christian Ponder and Matt Moore? You guys seem bias. Patrick Chung... I like the guy but he's equal to Antrel Rolle... How so? What season? Looked at it some more and notice Geoff Schwartz rated lower than Brewer? Smh. I wanted to give you guys a try but you prove to be worst than Danny Moore at this point. Keep trying tho I believe one day you guys will figure it out. I like the idea of lowering ratings but it seems to be little consistency.

I notice that as well, threre are ATLEAST 53 QBs rated higher then Eli Manning.
