Nothing spectacular but you can see an intro shot of Chicago.

Re: Xbox Direct NHL 15 Interview
Well thanks to the power of Xbox One I can see that they still have the EXACT same canned annimation in the game for a tripping penalty. Glad they didn't take the time to touch any of that!
Other than that the screen was too hard for me to see to catch much else. Couldn't even tell if they have the United Center's rights.
Ugh, one month and still no real actual gameplay.Comment

Re: Xbox Direct NHL 15 Interview
Apparently based on that gameplay/video, someone on the EA Forums I believe or twitter found out that the United Center is NOT in the game.Comment

Re: Xbox Direct NHL 15 Interview
I thought the only arena they were having difficulties with was the islanders (Barclays center)MLB New York Yankees
NFL New York Giants
NBA Brooklyn Nets
NHL New Jersey Devils
EPL Manchester United
NCAA FB Pittsburgh Panthers
NCAA BB Pittsburgh PanthersComment

Re: Xbox Direct NHL 15 Interview
I like how the camera angle for the interview is set in such a way that you can hardly see anything that's going on in the game at all. A month away from release, and still no gameplay footage. I'm looking forward to the game and definitely buying it, but the secrecy is a bit ridiculous.Comment

Re: Xbox Direct NHL 15 Interview
If the intention of EA is to have the interview plus a view of the gameplay they would have this camera on a different angle. But the way they did it, tells me clearly that the gameplay still SUCKS and NOTHING REALLY NEW IN THIS GAME EXCEPT THE BROADCAST PLUS THE NAMES OF THE ARENAS.I like how the camera angle for the interview is set in such a way that you can hardly see anything that's going on in the game at all. Is that worth the $60? NO WAY RAM.....hope RAM this will be your last NHL game, either you're fired or transferred to another department of EA.Comment

You hope a guy loses his job because those above him are specifically telling him to push certain main points every interview? If the intention of EA is to have the interview plus a view of the gameplay they would have this camera on a different angle. Re: Xbox Direct NHL 15 Interview
I can't say I'm happy with the direction the series went presentation wise.
-Real video of Doc and Eddie: Personally I thought Madden did a great job virtualizing their commentators, I wish NHL would have gone that route instead.
-Arena flyovers: Madden, NBA Live, and FIFA have all rendered the arena exteriors using their graphics engine, not sure why NHL chose to use actual footage (doesn't even look like video to be honest, according to this video it might just be a still of a city's skyline).
-Player faces: EA advertised they would be scanning players, however it's all but certain they were lying about that. Literally every other major sports title on the market is doing this with their athletes... except NHL.Comment

When did he become the lead guy for NHL? From the time he took the helm, what improvements did you see from this franchise? This is the reason why I want him out of EA NHL.Comment

I too am very frustrated with the lack of gameplay, but apparently next week at the big gaming event overseas there's supposed to be new gameplay...who knows what it will be.
Doc and Eddie I think is really cool how they're doing this. I'm already sick of Madden's intros. The intros of Nance and Simms is extremely repetitive and you can repeat what they say in the intros. They haven't changed them since Madden 13. "Hello Friends, Jim Nance and Phil Sims here, we've talked to the players and the coaches....what do you expect here today?" Apparently with Doc and Eddie they've recorded different intros so it isn't stale.
As for the intro shots, I did notice that they're different than the show whereby it's a live shot instead of a still image. If you look at that Xbox Direct video going by and the shot of Chicago..look in the background. You can see things moving, so it's a live shot. I believe Rammer said that they worked with NBC and basically took what they have and copied it into the game which is cool, and that they're gonna mix it up so every intro doesn't get stale.Comment

Re: Xbox Direct NHL 15 Interview
So we all zoned out Rammer and watched the two monitors in the background for 2 minutes.
Something that jumped out at me around the minute mark where a penalty was called, the cut scene is the same as it has been for year guys aimlessly skating around the ice bumping into one another after the whistle. The other thing at the end of the video it looks like a line change is about to happen. It's the exact same animations that have been for the past 5 years with the series.
I understand these are little things but if presentation is an area where they want to hang their hat on this year don't have the players become mindless zombies after the whistle.
I hope that was shot at E3 with an alpha build of the game. It's not like Rammer has said anything different since then. I also hope that we are all pleasantly surprised this week when they reveal footage at the event over in Europe.Comment
