Thanks for your patience.
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
All I know is after seeing the CFM broadcast I'm ready for the 21st.
Are you talking about the broadcast or the CFM presentation? If your talking about presentation, are referring to the live steam or is there something more updated. The live stream showed some of it, but would love to see more if it's out there.
As a gamer, I'm disappointed in not having a demo. As a consumer, I'm happy those resources are being put towards madden.
you know this says it very well, thanks Cash. Small Picture I'm upset I can't play early, Big picture, I'm happy they're focusing on a better final product where it actually matters.
Theres a good IGN article on the situation. I actually learned that EA access isnt on PS4 because of Sony not EA. Apparently Sony didnt feel the service wasnt worth 30 dollars a year. I gotta disagree if it gets me all EA games a week early. Why is Sony deciding for me whats worth my money. im glad I have an XboxOne as well as a PS4 but I was really hoping to get my sports games for PS4. but if I start my franchises 5 days early im clearly gonna buy the game for Xbone to continue it.
Honestly, I've just found Madden boring and stale the last 4-5 years, and I was hoping being able to try this "new defense" out in the demo would sway me and get some excitement back into the game. But no demo no buy, unless there is a consitsnret stream of positive impressions after 2 or 3 weeks, other then that meh.

So a demo which features only two teams and a short game wouldn't seem boring and stale to you?
If your problem with Madden is it feels stale (and I don't at all disagree) how would a short demo sway your opinion?
I love the "No demo, no buy" posts. It's nothing but an excuse to use something else to complain about EA with.
There are a plethora of options at your fingertips to make an informed decision. You don't need a demo to decide if you're going to buy the game or not.

I think those of us have a valid reason to say we're not buying it if we can't try it. If renting is an option for someone, then they could always do that, but if the demo was your only chance at playing it yourself, then why wouldn't it be valid to hold off?
Don't tell me impressions and reviews are the way to go and will help you make an informed decision. I can find 10 different reviews and impressions for any game out there contradicting each other. Heck, look at each forum on this site alone. Each game from Live to NBA 2k, this one, The Show, etc. all have 100's of different opinions that make it impossible to actually know what you're in for.
Streams, however, could help a lot better. You don't get to feel the game and they are not the full experience, but are 10x a better source than any opinion out there at all.
I still think it's pretty valid to not be leaning towards purchasing the game at all because of the history of the franchise and the lack of a demo. It's not because we have an agenda and are looking for something new with EA to complain about. If I had an EA agenda I doubt I would be playing UFC, looking into playing my copy of NCAA 14, or playing Fifa 14. Considering UFC and Fifa have been two of my most played games over the last two months, I doubt having beef with EA is my problem.
My problem is Madden and how bad the franchise has been and I don't like the feeling I get about the lack of a demo one bit. I don't buy the EA statements because I could have thought of the same statements in 5 seconds myself. I'm not saying Madden has been terrible. I played a couple seasons last year, but it was worth the rent and not a buy. I might rent it this year, but Destiny and NHL are coming out soon as well among many other games, so the lack of a demo really does hurt EA's chances with me. Of course my lone sell means absolutely nothing.
I'm sorry I turned this response into a novel, but I just disagree there is a 'plethora' of options to help make an informed decision. Like I said, reviews and impressions are all opinions and are always all over the place contradicting one another even on this site and I would never consider those to be a real valuable source.

Renting is an option for everyone, you mentioned the options yourself in your earlier post (and yes, physical establishments to rent from are gone for everyone, not just you).
I appreciate someone saying they won't blindly buy the game, I really do.
But every single person has ways to experience the game without a demo, even if it's going to the nearest Best Buy when the kiosks start having Madden on display.

I get what you are saying and I kind of feel you are probably right, but I just feel renting should not be the way to go. Then again renting is there for just that reason. I guess it's where I've always hated renting games so it makes me biased when it comes into the equation. Oh well.

Actually renting is a far better barometer than playing any demo.
As previously mentioned, the demo itself is an older build of the game and does not give an accurate representation of the game.
Anyone who is truly on the fence about a game should not be basing their final decision on a demo.

In my opinion the final build was always better than the demo, so I always used the demos to make my decision with NCAA or Madden and skipped a few years of each game thanks to the demos. However, I understand where you are coming from and in no way am I trying to argue you are wrong.
