Re: EA Access Gives You Just Six Hours Of Madden NFL 15 Gameplay

The part I don't understand is the defending of the Vault games.

As of now you get access to FIFA 14, Madden 25, Battlefield 4, and Peggle 2. Within two months FIFA and Madden will have new versions out, so will you really stick with the previous versions? Once the next Battlefield comes out, who is going to stick with 4?

In addition, there are no clear plans at all from EA regarding the improvement of the Vault. When will new games be added? What is the criteria for which games are added?

To point to the fact that potentially, in the future, you could access last year's sports games/AAA releases in the Vault a month or two before they become obsolete (which might be a stretch based on this very quiet announcement regarding the trial limit), to me makes little to no sense.

Is it really a deal to pay $30 for access to year old games? Potentially?

EA is one of the most despised companies in gaming. People will find any reason to bash them (me included). It's really not a huge deal, especially if your a die hard Madden fan. It's pocket change.

This is disappointing news, but not unexpected. The terms clearly state that you get a minimum of 2 hours of play for the early access games. Calling it false advertising or bait and switch are completely inaccurate. I got Access mainly for the vault games, the early access is just an extra service that I believe benefits me. I'll be able to tell in 6 hours of gameplay if I'll like the game. If I don't like it, I can cancel my preorder, and spending $5 on Access saves me $48. One thing I would like them to add is the ability to purchase the game 5 days early. If you use your 6 hours up and like the game, they should let you keep playing if you buy it immediately and not make you wait for the release date.

Actually Season Ticket was only 25 dollars. And you could play ALL the game that came out for a full 72 hours before they released. NOT just 6.

Initially, EA could have just said the trial would only be 6 hours. The way in which it was advertised is misleading, in my opinion.

What some of you fail to understand is EA did not lay all the cards on the table so it left consumers to determine what that "limited play time" was. Based off the past we got a full 3 days so it lead us to believe would would get atleast equal or perhaps more play time than before. Not in my wildest dreams did I believe it would be less, then its only 6 hours.

Re: EA Access Gives You Just Six Hours Of Madden NFL 15 Gameplay

Basically Microsoft ponied up some cash to be the "official" to find a way to increase sales of their system (which is number 2 in the sales race). With the "official NFL" deal they cut, they had a direct line to work something out with EA Sports for some kind of exclusivity deal for early access... but at the same time EA Sports doesnt want social media completely blowing up a week or two prior to game release with tens if not hundereds of thousands of XB1 owners with the game early posting negative reviews of the game before EA Sports can actually get the publics money.. so the 6 hour limit (which is lame) is their way of playing nice with XB1 but limiting any backlass from a "mass" public. I'm sure they looked at what happened with NBA Live last year (granted Madden is a better football game than Live is a bb game last year) and got scared and just want to control the conversation.

In a nutshell no demo + a meager 6 hour access for XB1 users (due to the NFL deal with XB1) = they want to get your 60.00 before any potential "madden sux this year" backlash.

I know how this game is played. As a gamer fan, its just big business once again sticking it to the gamer... But the Gordon Geko/Donald Trump cold business man in me would be like "smart move MS".

But again, so did Season Ticket... but at least ST went 72 hours up to release, EA Access only goes 6 hours, and no where near release.
Season Ticket is for up coming titles which were 3 days and it was only 3 or 4 games

EA Access is the vault and discounts and early access to EA games.

                        BIG DIFFERENCE

If there was no Vault and the prices were the same then people could bitch

You're using semantics lol. Who cares if it s EA or EA SPORTS, the point is they beat around the bush, and cash grabbed, when they were satisfied they let the secret out. . . they were sneaky on purpose. This isn't a case of EA vs EA SPORTS its a case of purely BAD BUSINESS. Anytime money is involved, customers should have the knowledge of what they're getting into.

If I sold someone a car, they bought it, expecting 4 tires, but I never SAID they'd get all 4 tires, they'd be pissed lol.

The big question is when will EA update the vault to the newest version of Game? Just make a Season ticket Next-Gen.

For me yes. Absolutely. I like NHL and Fifa but have never bought a new one. I've always waited 6 months to purchase one. I'll gladly play the old version.
