Ok, this is where we attempt to have constructive conversation.
On one side: Yes, it was never clearly stated (until today) the exact time limit. We KNEW there was a time limit on early access, but not the exact amount. To this point, 6 hours is PLENTY of time to decide whether you like the game enough to purchase it.

Let's talk about purchasing. You get 10% off digitally. A $60 purchase comes to $6. If you buy 5 EA game digitally, the yearl subscription has now paid for itself.

It also includes Vault titles (currently 4 of EA's most popular titles).

I'm not schilling for EA. Today, on my Twitter page, I said that I was happy the time limit was announced, because it made it easier to cancel my subscription. And for me, that is true. I will be purchasing my EA Sports games on the PS4. But I waited to post until I was less angry. And looking at it as a whole, EA Access is a valid deal for Xbox One gamers looking to go digital. The early access is only one portion of the subscription.

EA Access is not Season Ticket, and it was never meant to be.

Now, if you can't post maturely about this situation, don't. Enough bans have been handed out already, please don't make us as a staff continue.

Maybe there were a lot of internal discussions about how long the access should be given for.

I don't know, I'm just saying EA told us from the get go that there was no guarantee it would be for 5 full days. EA has no obligation to give us a game 5 days early, but they did (along with full versions of 4 other games). And I'll enjoy my 6 hours of Madden (and Peggle 2 lol).

Hmmm, maybe because they knew the all-mighty Madden would be the top selling point in 90% of customers eyes, and thus make them buy into a product that grants them access to Madden 5 days early. Do you think they would have gotten soo many interested clients, if from the beginning they said "Madden 15 early access will be available 5 days before release date, for only a 6 hour trial period" I can almost guarantee "Ea early access" would have flopped. So to sum it up, people feel more cheated and swindled more than anything. Too top it off Ea still hasn't commented or release an official statement that had this community in an up-roar. Its an atrocity of bad business moves on EA's part.

Just curious if anyone knows if EA has responded to the criticism (via press release, social media, etc.).

How did you supposedly know that you it wasn't going to be? Did you think that when 3 years ago they rolled out season ticket and promised 3 days early access? No more then likely not because we took them for their word. Now EA has lost all of the little credibility that they had and replaced said credibility with a massive heap of uncertainty, dis-loyalty and concern

First off, this is not a "demo" to decide whether or not you wish to purchase the game or not nor was it portrayed as that..

EA has once again played us. This along with NHL 15 not having OTP/Clubs for Next-Gen (xWON/PS4) is completely unacceptable and inexusable

Like I said I'm happy with the 6 hours, but it'll be interesting to see if all the negative reaction affects their plans.....

Yes, but the Early Access was clearly for customers to test the games before they buy the full game. I never said if it was a demo or a full game. I know they said it was going to be a full game, but it was always going to be used to test games.
